Discuss budget first and that will determine how many guests and what you can afford. Decide which vendors are you willing to invest in and I would start a pinterest board for ideas. Congrats and good luck.

Sit down with your fiance and make a list of things important to you and what isn't. Guests remember if you are good hosts, if the food and entertainment are great, and if they have to pay for anything out of pocket. At the end of the day all you have is memories and photos. Everything else is optional. Favors are the first thing you can cut out.


Figure out what you are willing and able to spend without going into debt or needing assistance.
Estimate a ballpark guest list.
With all of that info, you can search for a venue. You can't schedule other vendors until that is taken care of. Are you planning to have the reception at church or elsewhere?
Schedule tastings with caterers. Do not fall into the trap of booking them first and doing the tasting afterwards. Move on to restaurant corporate catering which will be a ton of amazing food for 1/10 of the price of a wedding caterer.
Then work on locating a photographer which you can find via Instagram.
