Newport Beach wedding vs San Diego wedding

Cayla, on September 14, 2019 at 10:32 PM Posted in Planning 0 8
I’m looking to do a destination wedding in California in the fall of 2020 preferably November 5 a Thursday, I’d like to keep my budget at $6500 for 65 and I’m looking for something all inclusive and byob

Having lived in So Cal my entire life, I think your budget is going to be tough. Honestly, I'd eliminate Newport Beach; it's the most expensive zipcode in OC, and they are all expensive. Depending on what you mean by "San Diego" (county vs. city), you might have better luck there. If you're willing to look in San Diego county, I'd focus on north county, like Oceanside or Vista, or you could go inland, like Fallbrook. All inclusive AND BYOB don't often go together. Exclusive rights to supply alcohol is usually part of an "all inclusive." As in other parts of the country, I'd probably look at lower cost options like VFW halls/Elks lodges/etc. or possibly a private room at a restaurant (but they aren't likely to let you BYOB). Good luck! (We spent about $32,000 for 100 people in Orange County, and it wasn't excessive, or at the beach....)

I agree with MOB So Cal that I don't think your budget is realistic for the areas you mentioned with your guest list size. Also, "all inclusive" means they supply everything so this contradicts "BYOB." I live in Northern California, which is generally less expensive than Southern California, and the average catering price here is $100-200 per person. Alcohol may or may not be part of that price, and it doesn't include the venue rental fees.

We are getting married in San Diego County and have an inclusive venue. That is a lil bit more than your budget...Not including Alcohol so I think it's doable.

I pretty much love earias.... We paid about $185 per person in So Cal (including tax and tip), and that total was less than 2/3 of the total cost of the wedding (not including rings, honeymoon and wedding party gifts).

Shadowridge Golf Club. In Vista, CA. If you go to my profile. I think the venue is linked.

I’m getting married at Shadowridge in Vista as well next month. Their cheapest package for us was $6000 for 80 people (during the week wedding). If you upgrade to a bigger package, it included wine service and champagne for the toasts. It’s absolutely doable there and the wedding director, Anna, and coordinator, Codie, are amazing! We decided to go for the most inclusive package but we absolutely had the option for the $6000 package and that wasn’t even the cheapest one. Seriously, contact them to find out your options!
