Night of Accomodations

Courtney, on January 23, 2020 at 8:11 PM Posted in Planning 0 9
We are getting married 45 mins from our house... our venue has the option to allow us to stay in the bridal suite the night of the wedding for an additional cost. I will be staying at venue with my MOH who is out of town the night before wedding.

This is the one thing FH and I cannot agree on. He wants to go back home and I want to stay at venue to make the magic of the day last a little longer if that makes sense. My thoughts are reception ends at 1030, but no one has to leave until 12. We could stay there longer and we would also be there the morning after to pack up everything to take home. Also, if drinking is involved.... it would be safer than being on the roads although I'm not much of a drinker.
I don't know.... this is our current debate 😂

I would personally stay. But that is something you two will have to agree on. Maybe list all the reasons why it’s a good idea? Lol but I’m already sure you have. Or maybe say you would like to stay there or another hotel nearby to enjoy your wedding night and let him choose.

I’d stay. You guys will be so tired after the reception, you won’t want to make the 45 minute drive. You will also have a lot of packing up to do. It will make it much easier to do the next morning. Staying the night makes the most sense. We stayed the night in a cabin at our venue and it was really nice!

Yes, these are my thoughts too! He doesnt want to spend the extra money, but I just think it will be a lot easier.

If it’s not an outrageous amount of money, then I think it’s well worth the expense.

I don't know if an additional $200 is considered to be outrageous.... I know it's kinda crazy to spend when we literally live less than an hour away though.

I say stay. It’s already going to be such a long day , and add drinking to the mix you both will be completely exhausted by the end of the night. Most couples i know who have gotten married said that they didn’t even do anything the night of but sleep lol

I think it’s worth it to stay. You will be so exhausted and not having to drive home will be just what you need.

I'd stay for sure. You'll have to uber or hire transportation home, and when you head home you'll have to take clothes & decor & cards & everything. It's better to do that the next day.
