nj Micro Wedding Help - November

Taylor, on August 18, 2020 at 12:10 PM Posted in New Jersey Planning 1 5

Hello!

We decided to postpone our big wedding until next year but this November we are trying to plan a micro wedding with just our siblings and parents, about 15 people. I am having trouble figuring out how/where to plan it. In NJ we still have no indoor dining - so I cant rent out a room in a restaurant as of now, and November 14th can get really cold so anything outside might be out of the question. We were thinking having it inside one of our parents places but neither are very big but we could dress it up and make it work if we have too.

I was just wondering if anyone had any other suggestions? Or if we have it at our parents any decorating tips? Thank you in advance!

Hey! I'm from south Jersey. There is this place we got married: once upon a time gardens in clayton nj; it's an outdoor garden. Cost us $250 for an elopement with 7 people. And maybe have a reception at a brewery or beer garden outside as a suggestion? Or if you wanna save money and do it at your parents, get decor from amazon. We got table cloths from Amazon for $3 per one. Fancy silverware and plates for $25. Recently we went to PA (Pottstown) and they have limited indoor dining.

We found an Airbnb in our town that was willing to let us use it for a wedding. We had a similar predicament as you (colder weather, not knowing anyone with a big house). A lot of Airbnb’s say no parties are allowed but I just messaged the owner and she gave the okay!

Given the restrictions we have, and how Murphy gets (understandably) upset about "knuckleheads" - I agree with Katie, I think this is an Airbnb situation.

There are so many of those nice big houses, both down the shore, and in our ritzy towns, I'm sure you could find something appropriate!

Try Sayen House and Garden in Hamilton or Mountain Lake House in Princeton. There is also a small chapel in Allaire State Park.

If you decide that having it outside is an option, see if you can rent some outdoor heaters like the ones they have on patios at some restaurants. It's incredibly unlikely that there would be snow in NJ in November, so that could potentially be an option.
