nj Postponed brides for early this year to later 2020

Aniq, on July 19, 2020 at 2:38 PM Posted in New Jersey Planning 0 4
Hey everyone, I was a March 22,2020 bride and fully prepared for that wedding by 3/15/20, then that's when everything was shutting down in NJ. I have kept in contact with all my vendors and was given different available dates throughout 2020 and beyond. My vendor is in Warren County NJ and I have to say they have been fabulous so far. I have rescheduled our wedding to Nov 22,2020. I like my dates with doubled numbers. Lol. I reordered invitations in June because my invitation website had a sale, only to be given a full-refund to do my new invitations. I felt blessed, one less thing to stress about. Now that NJ is reopening slowly, which I know is for the betterment of our state. I wonder about the fact that alot of venues are indoors and that will cut my guest list, I think about the social distancing/which if you have a dance floor, can guests,me/FH even dance together?= Do I still need my DJ/MC's that has already been paid for? Then I think about the bridal party who has already paid for their clothes and if I might need to cut them down from 5 women to 2 women due to possible restrictions. Does any 1st postponed NJ bride feel this way about their second potential wedding? How are yall handling things for the fall Jersey girls?

I'm so sorry Aniq - these are all such tough questions and decisions to make!

Has your venue communicated any possible restrictions to you, or changes that might need to be made? I know it's still early to know for sure what November will look like, but any information they can share would definitely be nice! Here are a few posts where you can check out how other couples have been changing their wedding plans: What has covid changed in your wedding plans? and Fall 2020 brides...whats your new guest count??

And here are two discussions where you can connect with other November couples: Wedding 11.14.2020 and Another Covid Post.

Thanks. I rescheduled our wedding in April. Then I checked to see how they were doing in June. I said I don't want to bombard them in July, as NJ starts to slowly open, which is fine to me. I said the next time I will reach out is at the end of August so I know whether or not I should send the new invites to the same people who RSVP'd yes for 3/22/20. The good part was that they were mainly family and friends we called family back then. Some brides, I think might be trying to let me know their opinion while not trying to hurt my feelings and I'm thankful. But if I cut down the the original guest list from 135 to 80 and they actually show-up I will be thrilled. I'm praying that we won't need masks at that point, but that might be wishful thinking, and be selfish of me. So if we still need masks then we will do it strategically. Thanks again for responding to me and listening to me rant, lol.

Of course! This is always a safe space to talk and rant about your wedding! ❤️

I think reaching back out in August is a good plan, and gives your venue more time to figure things out and keep adjusting!
