nj recent name change

Not sure about NJ but in Maryland I believe they mail it 🙄. I have my MVA appointment next Friday though so I will see. Do you already have a real ID?

In my state they mail it. Contact your local dmv/ss office to learn more.

In my state they give you a paper copy and then mail the new official one. I would call your local DMV to find out, and I wouldn’t assume they’ll automatically issue you a REAL ID. None of the states in my area do it automatically because there’s a lot more paperwork/proof of identification needed to obtain it.

And yes precious license they used to get it the same day but with the real ID I know many states were mailing them and giving you a piece of paper in case you got pulled over

In AZ they give you a paper copy & the real one comes in a few weeks later.
