Hi Everyone,

My fiancé and I got engaged in late 2023. We have been wedding planning on and off. Honestly, feeling a bit discouraged need some help. We are looking for a simple yet elegant wedding for about 100 people with a budget of 20 K. We are open to PA venues as well. We are flexible with our wedding date -late 2024 or early 2025 would be ideal.Thank you in advance!

I got married five years ago and we decided to get married in Pennsylvania because it is cheaper. My husband is from Jersey so that's where a lot of his family and friends live. My family lives in Pennsylvania. We picked Scranton since it's more of a middle ground. We got married at the Radisson. I will say our budget was $20,000 for approximately 100-115 people as well. After all was said and done we spent closer to $23,000-25,000 with a guest count of approximately 85. The $23,000-25,000 didn't include my wedding dress, veil or alterations (my mom paid for those), alcohol (my parents covered that cost for us), or the rehearsal dinner (MIL covered). I know pricing as gone way up especially post Covid so it might be difficult to stick to this budget. I think you will probably get better pricing on pretty much everything if you go with Pennsylvania. Friends of ours that live in Jersey also decided to get married in Pennsylvania because after comparing pricing they could afford everything they wanted in Pennsylvania over venues/vendors in Jersey. They got married at Memorytown which is in the Poconos. One other thing that might help save money is having the wedding either during a non-peak time of year (typically Nov - March) or on a Friday or Sunday.

You're welcome! Another really pretty place where we went to a wedding was the Stroudsmoor which is in Stroudsburg which isn't too far from Jersey. Pricing wise unsure how they are.

We have been married for 3 years and we got married in Bensalem, Pa. We were expecting about 100-115 and we ended up 65 guests. We spent about $20,000-$22,000 for our wedding. We also picked a venue that everyone can get to. Most of our family and friends are from Philly and Delaware. Our budget did include my dress etc and tux. However we didn’t do a rehearsal dinner. I agree with Veronica that you may want to try the Poconos, Scranton areas.
