NJ/NY Bachelorette parties?!

Sparky_B, on August 17, 2017 at 11:53 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 20

Anyone in the NJ/NY area? What are you doing/did for your bachelorette? I'm at a loss. Also please don't suggest any male strip club things. TIA

It really depends on your style I think. You could do anything you like! Do you want a party vibe? Something calm and casual like a spa experience? I didn't have one but we did my sisters at LIPS in NYC. It's a drag queen show (no stripping!) and while it's not really my thing it was actually tons of fun. http://www.nycdragshow.com/

I'm doing a wine tour in upstate NY. There are plenty of things to do in NYC though. Went to an 80s prom for a friend's bachelorette party. It was awesome http://www.awesome80sprom.com/

I'm actually in the middle of planning one for my bff. We're planning for either nyc or A.C. as that is what the bride wants. I'm looking into renting a house or apartment (depending on final location). We'll probably do an escape room and bar hopping (although we are considering hunk o mania too)

My group of friends usually rent a house someplace. Two years ago we went to Newport, RI for a long weekend. Went to a vineyard one day and chartered a sail boat. This past year we did Greenport, NY. We did a full day limo vineyard tour and then decided to go to a goat cheese farm on a whim! We're really boring but had a great time.

Head to the Finger Lakes for the wine trail! We just did this for my friends and had a blast! We rented a limo to take us to all the wineries one day and the next we rented a pontoon boat (you only need a drivers license to operate it) and stopped at a few docks for some drinks and lunch. Such a great time!

My wedding isnt until next year so I am super far off from any of this, but I did have a friend ask me the other day and I said It might be cool to go to either a wine tasting during the afternoon, then a drag show in the philly in the evening!

A friend of mine who was recently married did a wine and paint night where everyone would begin the night at their canvas and every ten minutes or so they would move to the canvas to the left of them, and at the end of the night the Bride had a painting her entire bridal party had a been apart of! I though that was really sweet.

I've been to so many different types of bachelorette parties in the area - Renting a house up in the finger lakes and doing wineries, AC, bars in NYC, renting a house at the Jersey shore, renting a party bus for the wineries out east on Long Island. For mine we rented a house on Fire Island and sat at the beach all weekend!

I'm from Long Island and some fun ideas I've seen are Long Island winery tour, renting a Hamptons house and going out there, staying in Montauk and going to bars on the beach, or Port Jefferson area has fun restaurants and a bunch of bars. There are some really nice day spas in the Hamptons that you could do if you chose that route. I've been to LIPs in NYC and it's sooo much fun, the food was also amazing!! Painting with a Twist is also becoming popular for bachelorettes!

Tons of options and combinations in NYC. I'd probably do something like an escape room followed by cocktails and then... well I've always wanted to do Riviera Sundays at Lavo. A friend of mine went to a dueling piano bar. You can do scavenger hunts. Interactive theater, if you guys have the budget for it, is a fantastic experience and then drinks afterwards to discuss it. House of Yes always has amazing entertainment.

@BlondeBond - I love AC. We use to go all the time in college for weekends together! I definitely recommend the pool after dark at Harrahs! So much fun!

We don't know yet what we're doing, but baseball games and the Ren Faire in Tuxedo are options on the table. (Semi-co-ed, in this case, in terms of transportation, and that we both love these things, so we'd likely end up going on the same day.)

There are board game cafes, Broadway shows - followed by dive bars, Museum of Sex, the Spy Museum (pricey), archery places...

It all depends on what floats your boat.

My girlfriends and I rented a large house through Airbnb. And the bride's sister found us a perfume making activity through the site. On the first night the woman came to the house and designed all of us our own unique custom perfume from essential oils! It was really fun and the event was a great ice breaker, since not all us girls knew each other before meeting that weekend.
