No bridal party = no bridal shower?

Alisha, on March 13, 2020 at 1:42 AM Posted in Parties and Events 1 29
Just curious.. if you dont have a bridal party does that mean you're not having a bridal shower? It's going to be just me and my fiancé no groomsmen or bridesmaids so I probably shouldn't expect one right? lol

Traditionally the BP throws the shower, so unless someone offers...

Did you really want one? Could you throw a friend a hint?

I would like to have one. Its a complicated situation lol I dont have many friends. No sisters. I was hoping my fiancés family would throw me one ( I'm very close to his sister and one of his aunts we throw bday parties for all the kids every year) but they're used to having quick backyard weddings and have never thrown a bridal shower so I dont even know if they know what that is? lol If I get one I would love it but if not its just something I'll have to miss out on.

    Oh, I'm so sorry!

Maybe still try to have a bachelorette with your FSIL?

In my circle of friends, usually the bridesmaid and MOB hosts the bridal showers. Maybe your mom can throw you one! Smiley smile

I had the same issue where I really wouldn’t have too many guests (I tend to keep a very small circle and all my fiancé’s female family members lived across the country). So I just had a Disneyland day with my bridesmaids and some close friends. Basically a mini bachelorette haha

Wait— I just realized that you’re in Southern California! We can be friends and I can drop hints to all your other friends that you want a bridal shower. I’ll even chip in! 😂 🤗

I was in the Orange County area and grew up in Walnut. Now we live in Murrieta!

Yes! Definitely add me on Facebook. I’ll message you my full name. that way I can invite you to a SoCal wedding group with brides and vendors (it was super helpful for me when I was planning my wedding!).

I didn't have a wedding party, and my aunts offered to throw a shower, so I had one. In our family, it's pretty common for extended family to throw a bridal shower rather than the wedding party. My sister threw a bachelorette party, just a single day of wine tasting. She put it together kind of last minute because I had not planned on having one. I would just sit tight and be ready to say yes if anyone asks to host either for you.

I'm not having a bridal party, but my aunts/mom's friends offered to throw me a shower. I agree with dropping a subtle hint if they don't say anything in the near future about it, I'm sure they would be happy to do it they may not know you want one!

I wouldn't expect one, but if someone offers to host one and you want one, there is no problem accepting.

This is really just who wants to host. I had a bridal luncheon thrown by my boss for instance. If someone close to you wants to host one for you, it doesn’t matter if they’re in your party or not

That was so sweet of them💕
I don't know if this counts as dropping hints but I've been reposting a lot of wedding pictures on fb (like from the ms to mrs box for example) and some of them are cute bridal shower pictures my cousins have been liking them so maybe I'll get lucky? lol
