No bridal party/mismatched wedding party

Hi all! Kind of a twofold question here. Did anyone have (or is planning to have) only one bridesmaid while your FH has multiple groomsmen? If so, how did you handle (or how will you handle) the grouping at the altar, wedding party pics, etc?
Basically, I'm considering only having my sister as maid of honor. My potential bridesmaids are all entering some new life moments, which are very exciting but also stressful time and moneywise. I don't want to add anything to their worries.
Meanwhile, my man has already asked his groomsmen (6 in all) and I already know he won't give any of them up.
Any similar situations out there? I'm just wondering how that would look up at the altar, or if photos after would look mismatched or awkward or something. Advice welcomed! Thanks😊
