Im so lost and overwhelmed where to pick for our honeymoon. We also dont want to spend a fortune either. 3k and i dont even want to spend that. Haha. We will be married 9/23. So 9/25-9/30 will be our time away. Any pointers? Where are you going? How much? Thank you!

Thank you all for your suggestions. I did talk with a travel agent a few weeks ago. She quoted me $2800 to jamaica. All inclusive with air from philly. Ocho rios ( spelling) at a couples resort i believe. Its far away from party life. Secluded. Beautiful place. Which is fine for me. Im not a huge people person. But i am afraid my fiance will be bored. But the hotel does include some trips/excursions and water sports etc.

We have never traveled outiside of the US. and it IS hurricane season. So i just want to make sure we are making the best decision.

Ive also always wanted to go to key west. He will do whatever makes me happy. Hahah. But of course i want him happy too. He doesnt really have any input.

    Thank you all

Would you consider waiting to take your honeymoon a bit later? That may open your options, due to weather issues in some areas.

Cruises are so fun and very inexpensive. They include all your food too! I've been on two and I love them. It's a cheap way to go to the carribean .

If you are worried about being seasick get a prescription from your doctor before you go. My fiancé and his brother both had never been on a boat like that and they get motion sick. So they got a prescription from their doctor for a little patch they wore behind their ear all week, and neither one of them got sick.

We are going to Paris and Italy for two weeks. We planned flight buying as well as our lodging and activities so that they were the cheapest prices for the time. We aren't spending all that much either! I'm a firm believer that you can travel just about anywhere on a budget and make it work Smiley smile

There are tons of affordable cruises! FH and I found one for 7 days to the Bahamas for $460 a person. Also we are AAA members so we are going to meet with their travel agents to look for some extra savings so try looking into that as well.

I recommend Punta Gorda, Florida. You can get cheep flights right into Punta Gorda through Allegiant Airlines. There is lots to do there. Plenty of wildlife sanctuaries, Bocca Grande Beach is fabulous, and Punta Gorda/Port Charlotte have lots of shops and places to eat!

Anywhere in the Atlantic/Caribbean at that time of year is hurricane season. If you like wine and beautiful scenery I would suggest Napa Valley/Sonoma. My husband proposed there and it was magical! Tell the wineries that you're on your honeymoon and you will get extra wine pours and freebies galore- we were offered private tours of wine caves, free champagne and even a complimentary bottle of wine from the vineyard where he proposed.

I think it's easier to find a place you really want to go then find a way to afford. We had too many choices. Once we got excited about exuma then we picked the suite to our budget.

My fiance hates everything tropical (boooo) and just started a new job with barely any vacation time so we're just staying in the states. I think we'll be going to the smoky mountains. We both like hiking and wildlife and all that. For our anniversary we'll be going to Ireland.

If you want to go tropical, Riviera Maya/Tulum/Playa Del Carmen in Mexico have tons of all-inclusive resorts that cost WAY under 3k for 5 days. We went to Catalonia Royal Tulum last May for a week and it was under 2k for both of us with airfare and transportation from airport included. I guess that would depend where you're flying out from, though.
