No dad or family

Kate, on November 7, 2021 at 4:34 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 5

Both of my parents passed away years ago. I have no family. My best male friend is going to walk me down. hes agreed to dance with me but neither of us wants a "daddy" song.... what would be some good songs or ways to do this? My FH is going to do mother/son dance.

It is ok to skip the dance. Otherwise go with something generic like What A Wonderful World or I Hope You Dance

You could do "Wind Beneath My Wings", "In My Life " by the Beatles, "You've Got a Friend" by James Taylor. Is there any song that has a special meaning for you both?

Any song you both like that has the tempo you want for dancing will be perfect. I wouldn't worry about trying to pick the absolute-best-most-meaningful-song. Just choose and move on to the next decision.

It's definitely ok to skip this dance. My FH's parents have both passed away, so we are skipping the mother-son dance.

It's up to you if you really want to have that dance or not. My friend's father passed away before she could get married, but in remembrance of him she was holding a picture of him while her and her now husband danced together to what her song to him would've been. It was SOOO cute and made me cry!
