So, I was recently looking thru the law and guidelines and it specifically states that you can have 150 people or 25% capacity for indoor ceremonies BUT only 10 for indoor RECEPTIONS. It also states that all dance floors are to be closed. Is this seriously true?? Anyone in NJ having a wedding soon...

It's already been rescheduled 3 times. I don't know what to make of this!!

"WEDDING CEREMONIES AND VENUES

Outdoor wedding ceremonies and receptions may be held while following appropriate gathering limits.

  • Outdoor wedding ceremonies do not have an attendance limit.
  • Outdoor wedding receptions must comply with the limits on general outdoor gatherings, which limits events to 25 people and requires social distancing.

Indoor wedding ceremonies and receptions may be held while following appropriate gathering limits.

  • Indoor wedding ceremonies must be limited to 150 people or 25% of a room's capacity -- whichever number is lower.
  • Indoor wedding receptions must comply with the limits on general indoor gatherings which are currently limited to 10 people. All attendees at indoor gatherings must wear face coverings and socially distance.

In addition to complying with the gatherings limits outlined above, any establishments that serve food or alcohol, including banquet halls and wedding venues, must also comply with the health and safety protocols for indoor and outdoor dining, including prohibiting consumption of food or beverages indoors between 10 pm and 5 am.

Unfortunately, dance floors at all venues are closed due to the high-risk of spreading COVID-19 in these spaces, where many individuals may be in close contact with one another.

Note: Beginning November 5, employers must adhere to new employee protection guidelines, summarized here. Detailed requirements, as well as exemptions for certain employers, can be found in Executive Order No. 192.

From what I know, if your ceremony and reception are at the same place, the 35%/150 limit applies for the ceremony and reception, which bypasses the 10/25 person limit.

Yeah, my venue said 150 guests and allowing dancing. My ceremony is at a church not at the wedding venue. It depends on every town and venues rules.
