No Father/daughter Dance

Ebony, on December 23, 2022 at 7:59 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 2
Hello everyone Smiley smile

So I was extremely excited to have my “last dance” with my dad but I’m deciding not to do it because my fiancé parents won’t be at our wedding. The last thing I would ever want is to make my fiancé feel bad since he won’t be able to have his “last dance” with his mom. He keeps telling me to do it but I just won’t feel right 😞
How would you feel if you were in this situation? What would you do?

I think if your fiancé is truly OK with it, and it’s important for you to do, I would just go ahead and do it. It would be another story if your fiancé was indicating he would feel badly about it, but since he is adamant that he is OK with it, I say, go for it! However, if going through with it is going to make you feel uncomfortable, given the situation with your fiancé’s family, you could always simply explain that to your father and just share another dance with him throughout the night.
