No Flower Girl or Ring Bearer?

NVV2B, on February 23, 2018 at 10:37 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 32

What do y'all think about not having any? We aren't really close with anyone with small children, and we want our ceremony & reception to be adults only.

I think it's fine. We didn't have any either but it was because a lot of our friends and cousins had kids and it was too difficult to choose from the amount of kids.

I really want my little nephew and niece to do these things but I am not inviting my ex-sister-in-law and she is super spiteful. I am sure she will not allow them to come if she is not invited. I mean I kind of get her POV because they are little (5 and 7) but their dad (my brother) is going to be there.

Although not having them makes it kind of nice because I can say no kids at the wedding without feeling bad.

I don't think it is abnormal to not have any flower girl or ring bearer at all. Especially if you don't have any kids in mind for the jobs.

Yeah, I think that's totally ok. We're not having a bridal party but no one thinks it's a big deal.

We had my maternal grandparents as our flower matron and ring bearer. They were thrilled to be included. You don't have to have them if you don't want them, though.

We are not having any flower girl or ring bearer for that same reason. I think it is just fine.

I’m not having a flower girl because of similar reason. And my ring bearer is my almost 2 year old son. We will have kids but no young girls.

We're not having a flower girl or ring bearer either. We aren't really close to any small kids that we would want to include them like that.

We aren't having either one. We aren't close to any kids and wanted to keep our ceremony and reception as adults only.

Not having either. Our dog is in the wedding, but we don't trust him with the rings.

I had an adults only wedding, didn't have a ring bearer, flower girl or wedding party.

We are not doing a FG or RB either, but we will have one junior bridesman and a junior bridesmaid.

We are just the opposite, we are having two flower girls (one will hold the rings), our 7 year old daughter is walking me down the isle and we aren't having a bridal party! EEK!! We just didn't feel like we needed it and we didn't want to slight anyone so we are just skipping that part! Our reception is totally kid friendly, moon bounce included. You can have whatever you want to have and you shouldn't feel guilty. Your wedding should be totally about you two. Your guests love you both for who you so they will love the party you throw.

There’s a good chance I put a vibrant fanny pack on a groomsman had have him as the flower girl, honestly 😂 we don’t know anyone with small kids and I think it would be funny. FH and the groomsman we’d use love the idea. But no, I don’t think it’s a big deal at all.

I am thinking about skipping it too. FH has some nieces and nephews in the toddler age range and just a little older, and one of his GM has kids of the right age, but since they're not family I'm not sure he'd want to ask them to do that.

There are no small children on my side of the family.

It's just one more headache to coordinate, so we may not bother. I haven't decided really.

We won't have either. Grown ups only at our wedding.

Though, We have been considering asking our grandmas to be flower girls, just for fun.

Absolutely fine not to have either, at that age it's mostly for prop photos if the kids behave. My H niece was supposed to be our flower girl, but was ill and couldn't make it. She was the flower girl for my BILs wedding, and while shes cute and all, she wouldn't smile or look at the camera. Most of the photos is her back turned to the camera, pouting etc. Definitely glad I didn't have to deal with that for my wedding 😂
