No flower girl.

Samantha, on December 31, 2017 at 6:10 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 25

So, we are getting married in March and we don't have a flower girl. We just don't have any girls to do it. His mom came up with the idea of putting the petals into small boxes and the people sitting closest to the aisle would toss the flower out before I walked down. I love this idea but, I have no clue what to write on the box so that people would know what to do with them. I NEED HELP!

You don’t need a flower girl or the petals. They’re messy and people are looking at you not the petals. Save the money

While a cute idea, people will likely end up throwing the petals at you, not on the ground. My cousin has 2 nephews and one is the ring bearer and one the "flower boy" -he is going to carry one of the wreath-like bouquet alternatives. He is 5 and super excited.

Is there a reason you need petals tossed? Does your venue allow it? I would just skip it if you don't want a flower girl.

"We didn't want a flower girl

We are asking you these petals to hurl

When you see the bride walking down the aisle

Tossing these will make her smile."

GASP! But how will you get married without a flower girl!?!!

Oh yeah...they’re completely insignificant. You’ll be fine.

My friend is getting married next year and is having her grandma and her man's grandma be the flower girls. Since it might be their last weddings to be in/at.

I have two flower girls, but if I didn't I'd consider lining the aisle with flower petals! It's pretty and negates the need for flower girls (if your venue allows).

The only reason I had a flower girl and ring bearers is I happen to have twin grand nephews and a grand niece who were all around age 5 and are so darn cute! Otherwise, I wouldn’t have done it at all. Also, my FG didn’t throw petals, she carried a bouqet, which is what she wanted to do which was fine by me.

i say skip the petals. Why risk having something to trip on.

My church did not allow flower petals because they are slippery and can stain your dress. Something to think about.

It’s not necessary to have one. You can just skip it.

A lot of places don’t allow you to throw anything that you can’t completely clean up immediately afterwards- petals, confetti, rice, etc. FGs are completely unnecessary. I only have one because my FH’s 5 yr old niece asked if she could be ours... but she doesn’t even want to throw petals (she just wants to wear a pretty dress, I think) so she’s going to carry a pomander and wear a flower crown.

You don't need a f2f, you can have a boy/or friend, grandparent ECT do it. My girls were in my wedding and gave themselves names. I had a flower thrower and ring carrier. You have what you want in your wedding. I think the boxes would be a bit much and possibly distracting.

I won’t be having a flower girl, I don’t need one or want one lol the last thing I need is to slip on flower petals or worry about cleaning up the church.

Why? That seems odd. Just don't have petals. I'm not doing any of that, myself.

No flower girl or ring bearer here. No petals either. Totally not necessary.

We’re not having a flower girl. It’s really not a big deal. If you must use the basket I would just put a sign either right by the baskets or at the entrance so everyone sees it.

The aisle will still be there without petals.

Our "Flower girl" is a year old and is being included so she doesn't have to be separated from her mom during the ceremony. No petals at all as they're not necessary, her only job is to look cute. Smiley smile

Yay another flower boy!! My nephew will be 3 when I get married and he is going to be our flower boy! (He is my little prince, I helped raise him from the day he was born and I love this kid sooo much) We already have practiced him throwing petals, with every handful he would go "YAY! " and just giggle lile crazy at the flowers falling, it's the perfect job for him Smiley heart Smiley laugh
