No flower girls

Kevin, on October 4, 2021 at 8:14 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 5
So I just found out that my flower girls have covid and my wedding is on Sunday. Based on all their symptoms and when they got it they should be okay because it’s more than the 10 days and they can go back to school by then but I’m making them get tested along with mom and dad before the wedding. If they test positive they can’t come. So if they can’t come I’m not sure what to do. I have one of my bridesmaids nieces coming who will be 2 in a few weeks but I’m not sure if she’s old enough to be a backup I also feel bad asking so late for a backup. Should I just not have flower girls or just see what else we can do with having my bridesmaids or mom do it ?

Frankly, I would just skip it! Your guests would never know any different 🙂

Skip the flower girls and have the florist sprinkle petals on the aisle

I’d forget about assigning a new flower girl, also if your current flower girl quarantine’s for the recommended timeframe I think it would be ok to have her come to the Wedding. Of course it’s totally up to you and your FH to have them take a test. I have no idea about how testing works after having Covid. I have heard though that you can test positive for quite awhile after but not necessarily shed it.

I agree with everyone else, I would just skip the flower girl. They aren’t necessary, and many people are choosing not to have them anymore, so it shouldn’t seem strange or like something is missing.

I would skip the flower girls, but also be aware that they may still test positive even if theyre not actively infected still. This can be common for several weeks after infection since they will be shedding dead virus. Absolutely do what you need to to keep you and your guests safe, but I know people who have tested positive for months after they were no longer sick.
