So... my invitations were sent out... which states were having an adult only wedding and giving our guests the number of seats reserved for them... well yesterday this happened... this is my FH cousin... ugh.

FutureAbbey, are you even listening to yourself? You're sounding so sanctimonious about being a mother. The mere act of having children does not confer upon you the right to judge others.

Lacie, awesome and classy response. I don't think this particular cousin will be missed that much.

Haha, Abbey, you like honesty, except when it's directed at you.

We are having our kids and immediate family's children only at our wedding. When it comes to when I attend weddings, I do not bring my kids even if they are invited unless it is immediate family or my kids are standing up, I do look at it as a night out to adult and enjoy myself. And as a MOTHER @futureabbey I would never be offended if my kids weren't invited! I totally get it!

@FutureAbbey I have two kids. It came down to my venue capacity and we wanted to accommodate more adults. With children, my guest list would at least triple. Which means I either would have to finance a 300 person wedding, which we can't. Or I'd have to cut out 30 plus of my adult friends or family. We understand that some can't attend because of this, but if EVERY wedding decision we've made was to convenience every person we've invited, we wouldn't be having a wedding.

Great response! I'm definitely going to have to write that one down, I'm sure I'll get a few people asking to bring kids too.

For those of you wanting no children at your wedding and/or reception...What about siblings with very young children? Do you allow their children? If not, do you help find a babysitter (esp. if from out of state)? I'm trying help a friend figure out proper etiquette.

Love your graceful response. Very rude of her, to not only ignore your request, but to tell you what she "WILL" do at your wedding. I can almost understand people asking, seeing if there is flexibility but sheesh!

Oh well!! You have 2 different adults you can invite now! I'm having an adults only wedding as well! Don't want to spent $20 per plate for children to mess over plus we are having an open bar.
