No more custom stamps!

Dj Tanner, on April 1, 2021 at 2:21 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 8
I’ll be surprised if I get any replies to this, because I’m probably the only weirdo that actually cares about this 😂 But the USPS discontinued all custom stamps in June 2020! You can still use your custom stamps to send mail if you have any left, but you just can’t order anymore! This means that companies like minted and Zazzle etc. had to stop selling custom stamps! This stinks! I went on the USPS site to look at stamps but they don’t really have any good ones

Our invitations had to be hand cancelled, so we needed 3-ounce stamps, and the only options were Henry James and Walt Whitman. Smiley atonished OH HOW ROMANTIC, Lol. Even the 2-ounce stamps intended for weddings are not really that pretty. Seems like they are missing an opportunity!

What?! Nooooooo!! We ordered custom stamps with our dog’s picture on them last year, with the intention of using them for our STDs. But I just ordered a small amount to see what the quality looked like before ordering 100+ stamps. Then we ended up postponing our wedding, and I figured there was no point in ordering the rest of them thus far out 😩😩

I am saddened by this also. I was lucky enough to order 200 stamps with our photos before they discontinued the service. I feel like they are loosing so much money. I loved using custom stamps, especially around the holidays.

They’re some available on Etsy that are wedding themed that are no longer available on the usps site but it’s not the same as designing your own.

Aaahhhhh that makes so much sense. I actually was just peeking around for custom stamps the other day, and I thought, man, I remember these were all the rage when I got married, they were EVERYWHERE, what the heck happened? Now I know!

That's awful! I have kind of a funny stamp story to share since you brought this up...

We sent our save the dates out in February, and I only had enough stamps to do half of them. So I figured, no problem, the post office is literally 2 minutes away from my house so I'll run there on my lunch break (I work from home) and buy the stamps and throw them on the rest of the invitations. I went in and asked for 3 books of stamps and the guy charges me, I pay, then he gives them to me, and I run out and back to my car because I had limited time. I peel the first one off and realize he gave me Sesame Street stamps. I was like are you KIDDING me. But I didn't have time to wait in line again for an exchange and get them all stamped to go out, so I used the stupid Sesame Street ones. I don't know if anyone actually noticed minus the people who I told the story to, but I'd love to know the genuine reactions of someone getting a Sesame Street stamp on a save the date for a wedding...

Oh bummer!! FH and I happened to have enough of those Forever stamps with old trucks on them to cover our invites, which totally worked since we both love trucks and restoring old vehicles. But I was definitely thinking about getting custom stamps for our Thank You cards. Bummer knowing that's no longer an option.
