No presents, registry going to charity

We pledged a donation of X amount and our charity gave up access to a page where people can donate. We did this, a gift registry for more traditional folks, and an experience registry for our honeymoon. We wanted to give people options . Good luck!

As an older, second time around couple, we wanted our guests to just come and help us celebrate....gifts of any kind, including money, would not have made sense for us. So, on our wedding website, under the ‘Registry’ tab, we wrote something to the effect of, “It is our strong preference that your only gift be good wishes for continued love and laughter. However, for those who absolutely must, a donation to (named charity), or a charity of your choice, would mean the world to us.” And then I added a link to the charity.

It was very well received, lots of people did it, and we received a lovely letter from the charity expressing their gratitude for directing people there.

On our invites we wrote "in lieu of gifts please consider donating to Chrysalis" it is our youth ministry that FH is the President of the board and how we met.

Don't register and donate any cash you receive as a wedding gift to the charity of your choice. It should be a private thing, not something that you publicize.

We did both. Had some for presents and two charitable options one of which is the church we are getting married at. We put the links to the charities next to the registry link.
