Has anyone done, seen, or heard of a wedding without a processional?

I would assume this would be normal if the bride & groom didn't have a wedding party or parents that are attending.

I haven't heard of this before. Are you thinking of just having everyone already be at the alter when guests arrive?

No, and I don't know quite how this would work because guests typically begin showing up as much as thirty minutes early so they can sign the guestbook before taking a seat

I've neither seen nor heard of a wedding without a processional, but I assume it can be done. Maybe no processional if you're getting married at the courthouse or somewhere like that. I have heard of processionals that aren't a big deal. Everyone takes a seat and then the couple and their parents/wedding party just all casually make their way to the place where the ceremony is going to take place.

I've never heard of it, but I'm interested to know what you have in mind. Would the bridal party and/or couple just stand at the altar while all of the guests file in?

I have only seen it at a wedding with no wedding party. Frankly, I think it's fine even if you have a wedding party. There is nothing wrong with having everyone go up there and then starting the music to get everyone's attention. I thought about it, but I think my nieces would be disappointed if they didn't get to walk down the aisle before me.

We won’t be having a typical processional - because we don’t have a wedding party. But I am going to have my parents, FH’s parents, and our kids walk down the aisle before I do. So it will be like a mini one.

Is there a reason that you don’t want to have one?

I really don’t want to be the center of attention. Also, I’m not wearing a typical wedding dress. I’m wearing a $100 white dress from a department store. I feel odd having everyone anticipate for me to walk down the aisle expecting me to be in a glamorous wedding dress, and then they’ll be disappointed.
