So my better half and I have a little bit of an age difference. This is also his first “real wedding”. We have lived together for over a year and by the time our wedding rolls around we will have actually already got married in the courthouse (we both work for the same company and insurance is just cheaper that way), anyways we have not registered and won’t be. How do I politely tell people we are not registering anywhere? I don’t want to sound like we are asking for money because we are not but we don’t really need plates, sheets or anything like that 😃

I agree with PP as that is exactly what we did. We are an older couple and have two homes already that are fully furnished so we did not need any more “stuff “. People already know to give cash or gift cards if you are not registered.

See that's what I thought but I was not sure if it was possibly a generational thing. I have had a few people already make a bigger deal about it then I thought ever would come about.

We didn't register either. We didn't say anything. If you don't people get the idea. I agree if they ask just say you aren't registering. At the reception we just put up a card box on the guest book table. We had two actual gifts and the rest were cards.
