No stage... now what?

Nikki, on July 3, 2012 at 4:38 PM Posted in Planning 0 16

Our venue does not supply staging for the head table, so FH was going to get it from his work as he his a banquet manager... now we're not able to use it. We'll have to be on the floor with everyone else, I'm really upset because I wanted to make sure everyone could see us and now i'm not sure everyone will. Any ideas or words of encouragement?

Can one be made? I realize you're down to the wire... but it's possible it you have some helpers and some budget for it.

Well, i think every one will be able to see you, honestly you only sit for the dinner and speaches really, than you are walking around saying hi and thanking people.

What about doing a sweet heart table and get some kind of spot lighting on you and your FH? That way you still stand out

Our head table was on the same level as our guests, no one made any mention of it, so I wouldn't worry about it since you are so close and probably have more important things to think about Smiley smile

I was just at a wedding and the head table was on the same level. Even from one of the furthest tables we were able to see the bride and groom fine. Have you made any calls to see if it's too late to rent staging? I don't think you need it, but if it's that important to you make some calls.

Honestly you do not need a stage. We will be on the floor with everyone, but our table will be away from everyone elses, so they will be able to see us.

We are also doing a head table and are at the same level as everyone else. Our banquet manager has done many weddings like this and assures us everyone will be able to see us. Plus also as the night goes on you wouldn't want you, your FH or anyone in the wedding party falling off the stage because they've been indulging in the festivities.

Everyone will still be able to see you if your on the floor with them.. My wedding party will be on the floor with everyone however to draw attention to the wedding party Our table will be lit up and decorated totally different from the other tables...Also we will be seated at a long table in front of everyone.. It will be fine, dont let that upset you.. Continue to remember its about you and FH and becoming one.. The little things will fall into place!

My DJ actually asked if we minded if he used the stage, he said that his music etc project better from it.... so we are going to be at the other end of the venue not on a stage... I have seen pictures of it at that venue and it works very well.... don't fret!!

I will tell you, that every time I've been in a room that's had a stage area, I've been on it (as the DJ), except for two weddings. Both weddings, someone bit it coming down off the stage. Thankfully neither was the bride or groom, but a great prat-fall moment in one of the weddings as the waiter missed the edge. Funny when thinking back on it.

Don't worry about the stage. There are more possible problems that could arise and people know who the most woman in the room is and where she is sitting.

You could rent a stage. They'll deliver, set up, the whole thing. You'll pay a few bucks for it, but it can be done. Google staging rental and your city. But you don't NEED one.

I think it will be beautiful! My ex boyfriend's brother got married and they had a raised sweetheart table. I'm not sure they ever got to sit down!

I don't think it's going to matter in the long run. You'll be visiting people and dancing the whole time!

It will be fine. If you are worried, depending on the size of your venue, you can arrange the tables so that none are right in front of the table, or so that they are all kind of around you in an arc. You an let your person who oversees your set-up know of your concern, and they may be able to help.

I completely forgot that some couples do that.

Needless to say, I won't be having my head table on a stage. I personally find it a little weird in the first place.
