So I’m getting Married in April! Yay! However I’m not sure what to do right now because I don’t have any time off. It’s a part time job and they offer slotted Pto but it doesn’t accumulate too quick but either way I don’t have any. We plan to get married on a Sunday and take a week honeymoon. Can I...

Can I just ask for unpaid time off? Or anyone know what I can do?

If your job wont give you time off for your wedding, get a new job lol. Unless youre gonna take an absurd amount of time. But if you cant even get a week off for this, thats not somewhere I’d want to work tbh. Just ask and see what they say, then call out or swap shifts with people if they give you a hard time

**update** thank you to the people who really tried to help and encourage me to talk to hr and my supervisor that was the advice I needed because they were willing to work with me and gave me all 7 days off I needed. Granted they will be unpaid but yeah I guess it’s not all about having time off but really about be upfront and communicating. Jobs really do have special allotments for special periods like this and you just have to ask. I almost quit my job but I glad I get to keep this job and go on my honeymoon!

I don't think it hurts to ask. I have no PTO, but my boss gifted me a week for my wedding.
