No Wedding Rehearsal?

Kay, on September 12, 2021 at 7:33 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
Hi! I was wondering if any other brides had no wedding rehearsal with their venue? I was advised the my wedding venue with Cescaphe doesn’t hold rehearsals the night before. Is that typical? Do you have any suggestions for alternatives?

I was in a wedding where there was no rehearsal. Basically once we got to the venue and finished taking pictures, the venue’s event coordinator talked us through how things were going to go and where we should walk to. But we never did an actual walk through. When it came time for the ceremony, she told each of the wedding party members when to start walking down the aisle. Everything turned out completely fine and there were no issues at all.

Our wedding venue is about 2 hours drive from where we live, so we're doing the rehearsal via zoom or in person with our lady who lives close-ish to us, not at the venue.

It will be helpful to run through the ceremony with her, but my fiance and I have visited our venue many times, so I'd say we're better prepped on what to expect on the day in terms of how it will be set up than she will be!

You could do a rehearsal somewhere else, even in your backyard. The idea is still the same. Or skip it if you have a coordinator who can tell people what to do on the day!

I've been to a wedding that didn't do a rehearsal, but they also didn't offer a coordinator the day of, so nobody really knew what they were doing. If you aren't going to do a rehearsal, make sure you have a coordinator who knows what to do day of! Our venue doesn't allow us to book the venue for a rehearsal until 2 months before, so we are currently waiting to hear if they will be available for a rehearsal. If they aren't, we have a backup plan to go to a nearby warehouse that my mom's fiance works at to kind of get a feel for timing and all. I want to be able to walk through it at least once before the wedding.

We did not do a rehearsal, nor did we have a day of coordinator. Instead we decided to give walking cues. Lucky for us we only had one person standing with us each so it was basically hubby escorts his mom to her chair and stands in front, my sister in law (best woman) makes her walk, as she nears the middle of the aisle down comes my sister (maid of honor) and when the music changed it was my turn. I did practice walking down the stairs that led to the aisle with my male cousin as he and and another male cousin were walking me down and helping me with my steps and veil. My mom was waiting for me right before the aisle entrance and we walked in together. I think its important to know your ceremony script a little bit so you can prepare for certain parts of the ceremony.
