Nomad Pizza Truck

Sarah, on August 10, 2017 at 8:15 PM Posted in Planning 0 3

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this specific vendor (Nomad Pizza). They have a couple of brick and mortar locations in Philly & Central Jersey, which are awesome!, but the guy I'm talking to for the food truck is, shall we say, lacking in customer service skills. They don't have any reviews on WW, or the knot, and it looks like most of the reviews on yelp are for there actual restaurants.

I've never heard of them, but I can recommend Fired-up Artisan Pizza out of Union, NJ. *******************@*****.***

We attended a large party they worked and the pizzas were phenomenal!

This doesn't matter for the original poster, but I thought I would just comment for anyone looking at Nomad for the future. Nomad recently served at our wedding and they were an absolute hit. The truck is super cool and the pizzas are made very quickly and with a variety of topics they can satisfy everyone from kids to adults from meat eaters to vegetarians. With that said, during the planning process they could be unresponsive and gruff. They also (strangely) don't do contracts, you just send a deposit along, which drove my wife crazy. But when all was said and done, they showed up promptly and worked the event professionally. It was already their second event of the day, so I gather they cater at a lot of things... Anyway hope this helps!

Thanks for sharing your experience! And congrats!

In the end, we did go with Nomad and everyone loved it. Like I said way back when, their food is really great. I'm sorry to hear that your wife had a bit of a rough go of it, but I am glad to hear I am not the only one. I handed over the reigns to my husband with this particular vendor.

If anyone else stumbles on this and is thinking about it, I would say I hesitantly recommend Nomad. In the end, they were great. The pizza was awesome and all of our day-of contacts and staff were wonderful. None of our guests knew the struggle behind the scenes. Just know what you are getting in to. Like Duane said, there is no contract, so you have to take a leap of faith, and the guy is late for email responses and not always the nicest. Not the best guy to work with when you are already crazy stressed from wedding planning.
