Non-Beach Honeymoon Ideas

Team_Rayford, on November 14, 2013 at 12:18 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 14

My FH was in charge of the HM, but he just text asking for help. He is a very shy person and doesn't like the beach so much. So we are looking for Non beach romantic honeymoon ideas. Our budget is $3000 max for everything. Because of budget we are open to US destinations, like a nice resort.

We went to NY. We got round trip airfare and 8 days/7 nights at a hotel just outside of Times Square for $3,045. Then we found out we could have spent much less on our hotel if we would have checked airbnb.com for a place to stay. So check airbnb for places to stay, wherever you go.

March is still a great ski season in Colorado. Even if you're not into skiing, the resorts there are simply amazing! Vail and Aspen are my favorite cities. What about an Alaskan cruise?

Depending on what kind of things you are looking to do. I would suggest looking into a mountain resort. Gatlinburg, TN is really lovely! It's a cute town right along the Smokey mountains!

How about Sedona, Arizona with the opportunity to spend a few days at the Grand Canyon? It's a beautiful area with great resports and spas.

Skiing sounds fun,I always wanted to wear a cute snow suit. But FH I don't know he is so weird about stuff like that. I was just thinking about a nice winery resort or something like that.

I'm always promoting the nice winery get away idea! Probably because FH said no for that for a honeymoon lol

FH and I decided to go to Colorado! We've been to gatlinburg and the smokies which is completely beautiful! We're excited to get a little cabin with a hot tub just for us! Put a map in front of both of you and drop a couple pins down with your eyes closed! Then decide from those! Lol good luck!

FH and I are flying to San Francisco for a few days and then driving down the coast. We'll fly home from San Diego.

If we weren't going to a beachy place, I'd probably look into one of those Groupons for a trip to Italy or Ireland or something like that. They usually include the flight and are around $3,000 for 2 people.

Not sure where you guys are coming from or if you'd be into taking a delayed honeymoon, but Maine is beautiful in the early summer before it gets too hot and humid. You can be in the "mountains" one day and on the coast the next. We have miles and miles of beautiful rocky coast line (the actual beach mileage is very short up here). There are places like Portland for the night life (don't think Boston or NY...much smaller scale), the Sebago Lakes area all the way up to Rangeley for lake swimming and the mountains, Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park which is on the ocean and then you have "Northern" Maine where Baxter State Park and Mt. Katahdin reside. Oh and we have Cadillac Mountain which is on Mount Desert Island and is a part of Acadia National Park and that is the first place that the sunlight touches in the continental US...just a thought :-)
