Non-Negotiables...

What were your priorities and/or non-negotiables when it came to planning your big day and/or finding THE dress mine were that I absolutely wanted to watch the sun set during the reception, my military brother could be there, and that I had a long veil

Had to be local so my family could be there. I wanted great invitations, and i hit that one right out of the park. I wanted my groom there, no negotiating that. And i wanted a poofy white gown, and a ceremony that completely focused on us and God. I wanted it made clear that God will be the foundation of our marriage

I have very few non-negotiables. I want my FFIL to officiate, no poultry (as the wedding is 2 days after Thanksgiving, so I know I won't want to eat chicken or turkey so I won't ask my guests to eat it) and we have to go to Disney World on our honeymoon.

    Full Catholic ceremony

Non-satin gown (tried one anyway, couldn't stand it)

A venue with a BIG dance floor (40'x40' baby!)

Evening wedding and my wedding date. Those things are NOT negotiable. I have always wanted a gorgeous sunset wedding with the night time reception and string lights. My wedding date is our dating anniversary and I want to keep that. The only other date I would consider is moving it three days earlier to be wed on the same day as my great grandparents.

Small, intimate wedding and food/cake that I can eat (I have celiac). Believe it or not my mother thought the food/cake thing was negotiable!

    - my dress

    - my cake

    -my groom

    -my photographer

    - my hair and makeup artist had to be these girls that I've been knowing for years. Not negotiable. I didn't care how much they charged, I would pay whatever it took.

I just want to make my own cake because i'm a cake snob and i won't eat anyone else's. and irises are the center point of my wedding, all the flowers will be irises and the colors are based off of an iris. (my great-grandmother's name is iris and it is my daughter's middle name) and the photographer, i used to work with him and he did my FFIL's wedding and our maternity pics and will be doing my daughter cake smash pics. and maybe engagement/bridal potraits lol and the groom is nonnegotiable Smiley winking

anything else I could probably be persuaded into or out of

A pasta bar...it got negotiated out.

    Great food and open bar.

Not a non-negotiable....but I asked if we could get married in our state's House of Representatives chamber. It was a long shot, but I think I would have been kinda sad if they would have said no. Buttttt they said yes, and we are kinda badass because of it!

New date twin @Rahel! yes loved the 02-14-2014 date as well

FH wanted me in a satin dress at some point during the event, and he's doing the food and cake cuz those were his non-negotiables. I don't like sweets and I could care less about food haha

a lot of things I just shopped around for what I liked, found a good price, and ordered when I could haha

So I was totally going to smash the cake in FH's face too but on his birthday I tried it (and succeeded) and he was genuinely pissed at me. I had NEVER seen him truly mad at me other than when I did that so I guess it's good I didn't wait till the wedding but dang, it was a shocker -.-

I wanted to get married back home and not spend a small fortune. We're good :-)

Oh, and FH wanted both a dj and a band.

It had to be a Jewish ceremony. And my immediate family had to be there. That was pretty much it, for me.

My "requirements" were pretty simple: That FH be there, that it not be a courthouse ceremony, and that we both get dressed up (wedding gown, tux) for the event.

Those are the things I really, really care about. Beyond that, I don't care if we were to just run off somewhere and get married and get pics, as long as I end up married to FH at the end of the day. Smiley smile

My must haves are: good food and good DJ.

Together must haves: church, venue (we both definitely agreed on it and didn't want to budge), priest (we didn't save the date with any of them until our pastor was available on the date we wanted.)

FH must haves: Orange color has to be exactly how he wants it (driving me up the wall), and he wants good cake (I could care less about the cake. I don't like cake)
