We made it to the ceremony. No one knew where the boutineers were. My dad decided at the last minute to not walk me down the aisle. My kids didn’t walk down the aisle because we were now pressed for time. I started to cry when I saw that the officiant was still there and she didn’t abandon us too. So I walked myself... nearly ran.
When I was halfway down the aisle I saw my husband smiling at me and everyone stood up and clapped. Suddenly I was calm. None of the disasters of the day mattered anymore at that point. The ceremony was beautiful. The officiant did an amazing job with our bilingual ceremony. Our photographer was great to work with and extended our time with her.
The cake was destroyed by my husbands driving. I don’t know how he thought it was a good idea to throw it in the back of the truck. My mom scooped it into cups and the kids ate it like a parfait. The Top tier wasn’t so bad and was displayed on a stand but we had a grooms cake and donut tower so we cut the donuts as our “cake”. So many people left after the cake cutting. When we did our first dance there were much less people around but we had finally felt relaxed enough. We had a piñata that went over well with the kids. Everyone loved the food. We were complimented on our decor although it wasn’t exactly how I had envisioned. We also got complimented on our music. We had sparklers and confetti cannons at the end of the night. I can’t wait for the pro bam. So far I have a few cellphone pics from friends and family.
