Our wedding was on 08/31. I had the most stressful morning. I got a call at 4am that my hair and makeup person was not going to make it due to a family emergency. I had to beg for an appointment at Ulta two and a half hours before my wedding. Thankfully they were able to fit me in. It put me really behind schedule for the day. I missed my appointment for my mani and pedi. The DOC was a no show. My family scrambled to decorate without knowing where everything was supposed to go. The officiant was texting me that she had another wedding and we needed to hurry to get there. My sisters who were supposed to help me get dressed were trying to decorate so my husband helped me into my dress. I forgot to put on my shape wear. I couldn’t find my belt and I didn’t put on my wedding shoes. We were running out the door to make it to the ceremony when my husband realized that our wedding cake was sitting on the kitchen table. He threw it into the back of our truck (without telling me) and we left.

We made it to the ceremony. No one knew where the boutineers were. My dad decided at the last minute to not walk me down the aisle. My kids didn’t walk down the aisle because we were now pressed for time. I started to cry when I saw that the officiant was still there and she didn’t abandon us too. So I walked myself... nearly ran.

When I was halfway down the aisle I saw my husband smiling at me and everyone stood up and clapped. Suddenly I was calm. None of the disasters of the day mattered anymore at that point. The ceremony was beautiful. The officiant did an amazing job with our bilingual ceremony. Our photographer was great to work with and extended our time with her.

The cake was destroyed by my husbands driving. I don’t know how he thought it was a good idea to throw it in the back of the truck. My mom scooped it into cups and the kids ate it like a parfait. The Top tier wasn’t so bad and was displayed on a stand but we had a grooms cake and donut tower so we cut the donuts as our “cake”. So many people left after the cake cutting. When we did our first dance there were much less people around but we had finally felt relaxed enough. We had a piñata that went over well with the kids. Everyone loved the food. We were complimented on our decor although it wasn’t exactly how I had envisioned. We also got complimented on our music. We had sparklers and confetti cannons at the end of the night. I can’t wait for the pro bam. So far I have a few cellphone pics from friends and family.

I think you look beautiful.. So sorry about the hurdles you had to get over. But, no day is
without hiccup. The most important is you're
married and the people that stayed and support you guys.

The only thing that could have ruined the day was if the officiant ditched us. Anything else was just a minor annoyance and I let it all go. I was super happy to finally be married to the best guy I know.

I imagine my day is going to be going about the same way when it comes.. in the end nothing else matters but him and I. I think no matter how prepared you are something will always not go right and just be prepared for that will be enough. love your pictures, you both look amazing Smiley heart

It was crazy at the time but now nearly two month later I don’t even think about. We are still waiting to get our pictures back though and I can’t wait to relive the day through pics.
