Non-sticky lipstick

Stephanie, on January 20, 2018 at 6:31 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 17
I only wear mascara and eyeliner, so lipstick is a foreign world to me. I tried some makeup today to potentially use for the big day and the lipstick was highly recommended by several friends, but it was so sticky. I don’t want to gross FH out when we kiss, and it’s just bothersome since I don’t wear lipstick at all.

Do y’all have any recommendations on something long lasting but won’t be sticky all day? Especially for something on the less expensive side since it won’t be used often afterwards? 💄

Kat Von D liquid lipstick is awesome. Some people find it drying but I don't. It stays forever unless you eat something oily. $20 A pop but it lasts forever.

Loreal Infallible is also great for lasting lipstick and is under $10.

You can always go with matte lipstick. Nice cplor without the sticky stuff . One of my favorites is NYX cosmetics .. ULTA has a large variety of their products and they're budget friendly

I really like lip stain. I use loreal infallible. The first part goes on like a lip gloss. You let it dry then there's a lip balm that you put on over it. The color really lasts. I first got it for my gfs 30th birthday party outing because I didn't want to keep applying all night. You will need to put on the top coat (lip balm) a couple times throughout the day\evening because you lips might feel a bit dry but beyond that it's great. It runs around $10.

What about tinted lip balm. I'm no make up expert, and lipstick irritates me too. It probably won't stay all day but its really easy to reapply.

I highly recommend lip sense. I sampled it at a bridal show and i swear it never came off!!! Not even while eating or drinking! I believe it’s sold by consultants like how Avon and Mary Kay work.

I second L’Oréal Infallible lipstick, it lasts forever and feels just like wearing chapstick. I wore the red when trying on wedding dresses if that gives you an idea how much I trust that stuff 😁

I really like Maybelline Super Stay. I'm not big on lipstick either but I bought this just to try and I'm addicted. I wear it every day now and find it really easy to apply. You put it on like a lip gloss, let it dry for about 2 minutes, then put the top clear coat on (consistency of chapstick). It feels smooth on my lips and it doesn't transfer when I kiss FH so that's awesome. I think I paid $7-$8 at Wal-Mart.

Covergirl Outlast is my go to lipstick. I can't be bothered to re-apply all day. I put the color on my lips, apply the rest of my make up, by then my lips are ready for the top coat. It doesn't transfer when kissing either.

Like @LillyBean17 said, it will stay unless you eat something oily. I'll re-apply the topcoat before eating something like french fries. Then I don't seem to have the problem of the color coming off.

I buy my lipstick at Wal-mart for $5-$8. You can get it at any drugstore too.

For years I penciled color on my lips and add a little lip balm (coloring them in fully is called prostituting and that always cracked me up). Feels very light weight and lasts all day.

I second Kat Von D, worth the money. Lasts all day, you can’t even feel it.

Matte lipsticks are really nice for that nonshiny non sticky feeling. They can be very drying though so make sure you moisturize your lips first.

Because I’ll be wearing more makeup than usual? It’s not like any of us go around with bridal hair and makeup on a daily basis, so I’m not sure what your point is supposed to be?

I third Kat Von D! I Went to Sephora and tried a color to see just how long it would last. It lasted all day haha.

I also love Bite from Sephora, but the kind I get (not the traditional lipstick) is rather sticky.

Try colourpop.com they have lipstick that stays on and kiss proof so FH won’t have lipstick on his lips. I swear by it I use it everyday, I’m using one in my wedding and the prices aren’t bad like $6. They have all kinds of colors I love them

LipScense is also a good option for all day, non-sticky lip coverage... I was skeptical at first, but a friend of mine sells it so I gave it a try - you put the color on and let it dry then cover with a light gloss... not sticky and lasts all day (if you're eating and drinking a lot, it will wear, but if you re-apply the gloss every 3-4 hours, which is colorless so you don't need a mirror, it will last all day)

it's something you have to order from a person (think tupperware party but make-up) If you google or search for it on FB you will have NO problem finding sellers..
