Non Traditional Wedding Gown color

I considered it. I went with champagne but it still looks very bridal.

I had planned to wear red, and I'm still disappointed it won't work out. I had ordered a crimson dress from a dressmaker on Amazon and they sent me a hideous orange thing that looked like a thrift store halloween costume.

Since Alfred Angelo went out of business, there's no dressmaker that does solid red anymore. I was really disappointed but too gun shy to risk ordering online again so I wound up just buying an ivory bridal gown.

It just doesn't go with my theme the way red would have. I know I can wear red accessories, but it's not the same.

I was almost going to pick a silver dress, but mine is ivory.

My maid of honor & my mom thought was I was crazy to think about wearing something other than white. But, I think they're both coming around to the idea.

I swapped out silver crystals for red crystals on my dress.

Dress

Mine is short ivory, and I'm adding a red petticoat and sash. Bad picture, haven't had alterations yet. It feels bridal to me, cuz I'm the bride!

Mine had purple in the train and in the trim across the front. No regrets at all. Loved having a different type of dress while maintaining some of the white. Go for it!

You're right, Alexis, but since I'm playing the Red Queen in my wedding, I really needed it to be a wedding gown. So it had to be over the top bridal/royal/etc.

Also, my wedding is in May and I wasn't willing to risk waiting.

My wedding dress is fuschia my favorite color is pink so I would not have it any other way.

Mine is ivory. I left a picture in a previous conversation. I was worried too but a lot of the ladies on here boosted my confidence that I made the right choice.

Check out Anomalie they make custom items in 3-4months. They are a bridal company but will do any color! They are San Francisco based, I think they start at $800, I’m using them.

People didn't used to wear white or ivory. You just wore your best dress, no matter the color. Plenty of amazing ball gowns out there

I was playing with the idea of a silver sequined dress for most of the day today. Which is really funny because I had pretty well set on a very simple Regency style dress.
I love colored wedding gowns!

I was going to have a dress that had a silver gown with ivory lace overlaying it. I'm now going to go for a champagne color with the ivory lace.

Mine is blush. I love it, I would t have it any other way. I never saw myself wearing white, even when I was younger and my style was different, I wanted a black dress then. Lol
I love non-white dresses! A friend of mine has commissioned me to make her bridal gown, I'm a fashion designer and she wants a baby blue gown! Color can most definitely be bridal.

Mine is blush and i haven't worn it yet i definitely don't feel less bridal!! I never envisioned myself in white so i feel great about it. Go with whatever makes you happiest!

I am going with an Gold custom Gown I think it will make me feel more Bridal because I’m doing something different. I think you should do whatever makes you feel good.

Mine is a blush/nude color. I definitely knew I didn't want white.
