We are having about 30 military members and their wives in attendance including my FH. Our DJ is also military and prior to the speeches will be asking them to all stand for a celebratory shot and saluting them.

I'm walking down the aisle with both my dad and my son (15 years old). Our intro will be done a little different, our DJ is going to have everyone come out for a dance, and then stay gathered around the dance floor, then we'll enter and do our first dance immediately while everyone is gathered around us

A few things we're doing is I'm having a black dress, my 5 year old son is walking me down the aisle, and we're doing a unity tequila shot.

I am going to have a white dress with black lace on it. While I am using instrumental music for the ceremony I am using songs that are not traditional. We are using cupcakes instead of cake for the guests (still doing a small cake for us)

Omg that's great! I haven't talked to anyone else doing that. How are you going about it for your ceremony?

We are not having bridesmaids or groomsmen.
    Our Fathers will make speeches.
Cupcakes instead of cake. Favors replaced by donation to a charity. On rsvps, guests can request a song for the DJ to play.

We haven’t decided for certain. We are getting married in front of a large fountain, so we are hoping we will be able to have the shots sitting inconspicuously on the fountain ledge until we need them. I think we are doing them after we are are pronounced husband & wife. We may have our guests participate too! How are you doing them??

I found a cute little script that we'll have the officiant read. I'm not sure where we're gonna hide them yet. I'll have to have it chilled until right before because I refuse to drink warm liquor 😅 i definitely think im going to pay the money for a high quality tequila though.

At what point during the ceremony are you doing them?
We are using Patron. Not only is it my favorite tequila, but we actually have a story behind patron shots that led up to us beginning to date, so it seemed fitting. They sell itty bitty patron bottles, which is what we’re using. You can keep them in the freezer until right before the ceremony.

Yes I think Patron is what I want as well. It's a great tequila. I'm not sure when we're doing it yet. I guess I have a couple of weeks to figure it out 😅 i guess whenever people normally do Unity ceremonies 🤷‍♀️

    No parent dances

    No bouquet or garter toss

    Debating cutting favors

    Cupcakes instead of cake

    No (real) flowers (wood bouquets)

Keeping all décor on the light end

    Skipping or reducing toasts.

    Ceremony will include a handfasting.

I like your ways of keeping it simple. We are doing much of the same.
Looking into a silk flower bouquet. Real flowers, while beautiful are such a waste. They are grown, cut, displayed and tossed in the garbage. How rude.

I will walk down with my fiancé, I'm wearing a grey/silver dress and it won't even be a wedding dress but one that I will buy at a department store.
I'm probably in the minority on this one, but the dress is not something I see as important, especially given that you only wear it once for 6-7 hours. The same about the veil , I'm skipping it for this very same reason.
And we're doing a circular seating for the ceremony, similar to this: Non-traditional? 2

Oh, I forgot: we're hosting a flowerless wedding: I'm not having a bouquet ot something to hold and he won't wear a bout, he doesn't like them. My parents and grandmas are unpleased, they wanted to a bout/corsage but no since we don't want flowers at all. I love them , those I buy and bring home and those my groom gifts me with coz they last for days/weeks/months ... But we aren't having 'wedding' flowers.
Our décor? balloons, they are cheaper, still beautiful and the décor doesn't look like a birthday party for a kid when properly done: we booked a company that does balloons decor for weddings. These are some examples of what we love :
