Non wedding buys while saving for the wedding

Oh God! It's the worst and I regret most of the purchases even though it's mostly food lol.

Yep, new clothes for me. I've lost weight and old clothes were getting baggy. Just spent some money on clothes. Car parts too.

FH & I went on a 5 day beach vacation at the end of June, FH just upgraded his golf irons this weekend, and I’ve just shopped for clothes, shoes, etc. Our parents are paying for everything for the wedding, which we’re super thankful for, so we haven’t really had to save much for the wedding. We’ll be paying for our food and excursions at our honeymoon in Turks and Caicos but that’s mostly it. I got our flights almost free due to credit card reward miles, and my FILs are paying for our condo in Turks & Caicos since my parents are paying for most of the wedding.

I finally decided to get Invisalign braces. I wanted to wait til after the wedding but I was in so much pain I couldn’t take it anymore. Oh well, less money now but there will be more money later since these will be paid off sooner.

We were incredibly fortunate to afford a new car- 2017 Ford Explorer- for my fiance. When the cost of repairs was more than the value of the car we decided that was it- we're going shopping. Between saved up tax money, and one heck of a trade in value, we walked away with a car that was very under budget.

We plan on taking it on our minion trip to Montreal after the wedding.

When setting our budget we purposely made it so that our normal life wouldn't change too much. We wanted to still be able to do things we usually do and not stress even more than the usual wedding planning stress. So we've gone on trips, got new phones, and other smaller purchases for ourselves during our engagement.

Well we had our dryer catch fire last week LUCKILY FH decided to get something to drink came downstairs and caught it A REAL fire!!! We were sleeping if he had not come down it would have been a huge fire on our lower level...so we are buying a new set it took the washer out too!

Ever since we booked our venue our spending habits haven’t changed much, even thought we are paying for (almost) everything ourselves. Our biggest expense is usually eating out and our coffee runs! Those habits are so hard to break!

We just bought a new dining room table and chairs! Had to talk FH into it, but it was too good of a deal to pass up!

FH got Super Mario Maker 2 and I got Soul Calibur 6 so that’s $120 we could’ve used for the wedding but you go crazy if you never get to buy anything fun. We restricted our dates to one a month to save more money.

We go out to eat probably more than we should, we are paying for a new car, got a few other things we have also had a long engagement but we are trying to stop all extra purchases til after since we are getting closer and we have more wedding stuff to pay for!
