North Carolina Restrictions/late Rsvps

Chelsea, on March 24, 2021 at 3:17 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 9

I was so happy to hear the Governor let up on some of the restrictions yesterday! We're 82 days away, so we've just been barrelling through, hoping for change. Last month, he bumped mass gatherings up to 25, and this month it's up to 50. We're hoping the pattern continues and it doubles again so we can have 100 folks!

We had 130 on our list (we're prepared to drop it as low as 75), so we're holding out for the next update before sending invitations in hopes that we can get the highest number possible. This pushes things back a smidge. We sent Save the Dates out in December, so guests already have the date marked. Would it be pushing it if we wait to send invitations out the last week of April with a "kindly reply" date for RSVPs (online, through the website) of May 15th?

Wedding is June 13, but I'm a teacher, and the middle-to-end of May is always CRAZY.

All of our invites just got delivered for our May 15th wedding and we're asking for an online RSVP by April 10th so I think you're fine!

We recently sent ours and we put our requested RSVP date of May 1 for our June wedding and we are already getting RSVPs in! I’m super surprised to be honest, but I think your dates should be fine

Send invites at the standard 6-8 weeks and replies due back at 3-4 weeks based on the capacity rules at 8 weeks. Anyone cut from the list needs to contacted asap.

Yay! That is such great news! I would think you’re totally fine in doing that, especially with online RSVPs!

That is totally fine and plenty of time! I sent save the date/invitation at the same time because we book our venue 90 days prior to our wedding date so instead of paper rsvp we asked people to call us or text. We sent our invitation Feb 3rd and asked for rsvp by March 1st with the wedding being 4-17-21. We were happy Roy eased the restrictions yesterday so I’m very happy for future brides. It’s a little late for me because my wedding is 24 days away but we did a big message inviting our last few guests and are waiting to see if any will be able to since they are out of state.

Yay!! I’m getting married in NC in less than a month and this was amazing news when I saw it yesterday! We have an intimate guest count of 40 — also super ecstatic that they ended the alcohol curfew and are allowing bars open to 75-100% capacity! This is wonderful news for our destination wedding ❤️❤️

Have you discussed your guest count with your venue? I went to a wedding last weekend, in NC, that had 100 guests. It is worth asking them if you are able to invite all intended guests.

Oh girl, I've tried everything in the book! They are very strict on the Mass Gathering guidelines. Due to the type of venue (public garden), they said they can't follow the guidelines set specifically for wedding venues.

At this point, I'm trying all the loopholes!
