Not having official wedding party

Smarie1993, on January 24, 2022 at 1:02 PM Posted in Planning 0 4
Is it weird to not have an actual wedding party? Like bridesmaids and groomsmen. We are not a very social couple. We have friends, but we aren't sure on having bridesmaids/groomsmen. Thinking of having my sons (6 and 8) walk me down the aisle and standing up there with us.

It's not weird at all. I think it's better that way than having people you aren't that close with stand up for you that day. Your witnesses for the marriage certificate have to be adults but they don't need to be in your bridal party.

My bridesmaids aren’t standing with me. We are still doing like a bridal shower and bachelorette party and we still going to get ready together but that’s it. They aren’t going to walk down the aisle or stand up there with me. I don’t think it’s weird but you just have to make sure everyone knows what is expected and what isn’t.

Not weird at all, lots of couples seem to be doing that lately.

I think that’s a splendid idea. We are not having a bridal party largely because I just like the idea of me walking down the aisle and I don’t want to deal with BM drama. I love the idea you shared and don’t feel there’s anything wrong with it.
