Not saving bouquet

Michelle, on March 20, 2021 at 1:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 16

Anyone else not keeping their (fresh) bouquet but splurging on photography?

People I personally know who have gotten married have a photo or 2 on display as the only memorabilia in their homes. While they are happily married, having bouquet and other items doesn't fit them to have on display. In addition to no extra room.

I wouldn't say I splurged on photography as I just hired mine I don't think I'm paying anything unreasonable for it but I won't be keeping my bouquet - having fresh flowers for the bouquet is important to me but I don't really se a point in saving it will just take up unnecessary space and collect dust

I also didn’t save my bouquet. It was beautiful and I loved it. I enjoyed it in our home until it died and then I composted it 🤷🏼‍♀️

Photography was one of the things we definitely invested in, and we opted for fresh flowers as well. We air-dried my bouquet -- it's actually at my mom's house still, lol.

I really wish I would've looked into floral preservation sooner, because I absolutely love the look of fresh flowers preserved in resin, but I couldn't find a place to take them in time. I may still do a few things with the dried ones, even though they don't have that lush look anymore.

I don’t plan on preserving and saving my bouquet either. I love fresh flowers and I know the bouquet will be beautiful but after the wedding I don’t want something that doesn’t retain the same vibrancy as on the wedding day and it’ll literally just collect dust somewhere - not worth it!

I saved mine. I hung them to air dry and they’re now in a shadow box with a picture from the ceremony. It’s hanging in our bedroom.

I definitely spent an average amount on photography, maybe a little higher but I don’t intend on saving my bouquet as I don’t see the point. Sucks it’ll just die but I’m having a destination wedding so I don’t want to travel back with it 🤷🏼‍♀️

The only thing we’re keeping from the wedding are the photos (and we’re only having video of the ceremony). I’m donating my 2 dresses, the shoes, all decor... everything!! None of it serves a purpose for us after the wedding. So, I’m definitely not keeping a bouquet. I absolutely hate clutter and useless items in my house (makes me tense). Can’t have random stuff on counters or anywhere. So everything in our house needs a place and a use, otherwise it must go (thank God FH is the same). So we’ll have 2-3 wedding pics in the house and the rest will be in a nice album.

We are spending $6000 on our photography package, but I have no plans to keep my bouquet. When the flowers die, they will go in the trash, lol

I didn't save my bouquet or splurge on photography (not sure how those two things correlate). But a friend of my mom's made me a replica of my bouquet in silk flowers after my wedding, as a surprise gift. I guess it's something she likes to do regularly; she asked my mom for a picture of my bouquet. It's very pretty and I keep it on the dresser in my guest room.

I'm having a wooden bouquet that I got a great deal on and will definitely be saving it.

I'm having a few flowers of my bouquet made into a rosary, but otherwise I'm not saving it
