Is anyone doing NOT table numbers? Meaning, are you calling your tables anything else? FH and I are considering using different types of birds to differentiate our tables (ie Oriole, Mallard, Hummingbird, etc) but we're not totally decided on the idea. Is anyone else doing NOT table numbers, and what are you doing instead?

My best friend had a Highschool Sweetheart themed wedding, and her tables were classes, with centerpieces being books. So there was a Math table, with a couple math books stacked cute and a small easel with chalkboard paint on it that said Math on top. And all of her tables had cute games like my table was the photography table and we all had disposable cameras with a list of things to find, the english table was like a wedding madlib, stuff like that

Well I'm having each table a different colour, but I'm still having table numbers. So for example, the blue table will be table one, the green table will be table two, etc.

Me and FH love to Call of Duty together so we're doing maps from the game as our "table numbers."

FH and I are huge Phillies fans and travel to away stadiums to see them play. We're naming tables after stadiums and the escort cards will be a ticket to a game at that stadium. So, for example, you may be seeing the Phillies vs. Mets at Citi Field.

Halloween wedding...I think we're planning on doing candy table names and their escort card will be ON that piece of candy. Similar to the picture but not exact.

These 2 sided frames are from Ikea and cost about $1. The postcards fit perfectly.

We are also doing names of significant places. For instance, where we met, our favorite college bar, first place we went on vacation together, first place we lived together, the restaurant we went on a first date, etc. All together we are going to have about 20 tables. We'll have an explanation on each card explaining why the places are significant to us.

I really think that this is a fun and easy way to add some personality to the wedding!

JEN love that idea... wish i'd thought of it! Maybe if the FH even know what a table number was he would have ....

Amber I LOVE the birds too!! We are doing numbers and names so that people can find their table more easily but it still gets to be personal. Were doing the FH's favorite fish that hes caught thru the years as the names complete with framed pics! the numbers are little logs that i woodburned each # into.

Here is one thought : My friend had an irish claddah theme and her tables were all counties in ireland. I loved the idea but all the words were foreign to me and her wedding was huge so it took us while to find the table.

maybe put them in alphabetical order so there is some method to it if youre having a lot of guests/tables?

Our tables will be different retro games, "Monopoly, Trivial pursuit, Cards, etc..." FH and I met via our love of games night and wanted to show that by having a games themed wedding.

We met at school in New Orleans so as part of our centerpieces we're having little miniature lampposts as table "number" holders only the "numbers" will actually be French Quarter style street signs. Each street will be where our favorite places to go together were.

Not set in stone yet but we are probably doing names of our favorite movies. I also like the idea of the numbers but with pictures of the bride and groom at that age..very creative
