I totally know what you mean! the most you could do though is give them some suggestions or ideas of what you'd ideally like.

I just completely avoided asking any questions about it and tried to change the subject if it came up. If you're not thinking about it, you can't worry about it!

I totally feel this!! I love planning things like gifts and parties (but I'm a huge introvert lol...#ironic) The thing is I tried to see if my bridesmaids were going to plan something and they apparently never had plans to...so now my FH and I are planning our own combined bach party since I'm close with his groomsmen anyways! We are all going to our local roller rink that we've rented out for just us! (covid friendly option yay!!) As for bridal shower...it doesn't sound like that's happening...I told my mom I wanted one and she didn't even respond. Oh well.

Tell yourself, how angry I would be if my mom and MOG and friends all constantly had interrupted my plans, because they thought their ideas were superior to mine. This person or small group volunteered with ideas of her own. Don't step on it, the way you would hate others doing to you. You have plenty to do.

As others said, I would just ignore it. My MOH and bridal party planned my bridal shower and bachelorette party entirely without me. I didn't any details, including the dates, until the day. I'm very hands on usually to, so at the onset my MOH asked if I wanted to be involved in planning this stuff or have it be a surprise. I said surprise me, and they totally did and it was all amazing. Sometimes stepping back 100% is the best way to go.
