I bought some cute white dresses off macys and Amazon but I am not loving them, I am tall (six feet) and on the heavier side and they all fit me so weird and make me look huge- I am not sure if its the white color? I ordered some silver and sequence dresses but I am still nervous my brides maids will think its weird I didn't wear white. They should be in Friday. We are going to Boston for the night but I am not sure what or where

I am wearing blush to my bridal shower but that's kind of different I think?

I think the dress looks great on you. We are usually our own worst critics after all. But you should wear what you feel comfortable in!

I didn't wear white to my bach party, I wore a gold dress. My sister wore a red dress to hers. My best friend wore all black to hers. You can wear whatever color you want, no need to be nervous. There are no rules and it literally does not matter.

I am not wearing white to anything but my wedding, if that even. I am the person that if I wear a shirt with any white whatsoever on it when I go to a function with food, the food falls and lands on the smallest white spot. I say choose whatever color you feel comfortable in. There is nothing worse than feeling uncomfortable in something just because it is the “norm”.

You don't have to wear white. Wear whatever you're comfortable in. Personally, I think you look very nice in that dress

That dress is so cute!!! However, I'd also feel uncomfortable with the length. Especially since I'm assuming you're not just sitting down for dinner all night. Where something different! I'm debating the whole white thing too even though I know brides that have done both. I'll see what happens when I go shopping!

I am not wearing white to any of the wedding events. My wardrobe consists of black & navy. I am not worried what anyone else thinks, I don't want to feel uncomfortable at any of the events.

I don't think I wore white on my bachelorette trip once.

On the main day I wore a blue dress with my tiara and sash Smiley xd I was against props until I got there and got into the mood of having fun with it. You don't need to wear white to be a bride.

I agree w/ PP that it looks cute but I see how you can feel uncomfortable, it looks pretty short (I would wear anyway cause that does not bother me) and if you're not used to it it might limit your movements and you won't have fun!

Wear what makes you comfortable! Your friends might have other things for you to wear anyway and it'll be very apparent that you're the bride Smiley smile

The bachelorette plans have changed from what they were initially and it now looks like we're spending part of the night out. I'm hoping to be able to fit comfortably into my "Dracula Dress" again, which is a black, lacey little number that I adore.

When did having to wear white to a bridal shower or a bach party become a thing? Not being snotty, I really want to know......is it recent?
