Nothing fits!

Mandee, on November 9, 2019 at 4:03 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4

Small vent/rant:

I gained sixty pounds and have a bunch of side effects from going through chemo this year for cancer. My feet swell and I went from being a 7 (and having delicate little ankles/feet) to having these sausage toes and cankles. I am so over it and some times I wish I hadn't even done treatment because it took all this stuff from me!

What set me off was that I was so excited to receive the wedding/reception shoes I ordered (Betsy Johnson Blue!!) and I even ordered them a size larger than I usually wear so that they would fit......but they don't! My giant feet don't even fit into one of them and squeeze in the others!

I know in the grand scheme of things this is not a big deal, but it's causing me even more anxiety to go dress shopping! Ugh!

I’m so sorry you had/ have to go through this! You’re so strong for making it through such a challenging situation. I understand your frustrations though. I would feel the same way! My best advice to you would be to have fun with things anyways. Find a pair shoes that do fit you well. Even if they’re maybe not exactly what you had imagined. And same when it goes for dress shopping! Happy shopping to you 🤗 I wish you the best! ❤️

I am so sorry and I hope you are recovering well from the chemo. It is okay to feel frustrated because ultimately you want to look amazing on your big day. I think ultimately you will lose the weight and even when you try on dress shopping still have a good time and just find a dress that ultimately you would want to wear. When you find that dress you can maybe wait unless it's on a clearance and going to be discontinued to get it when you're Body balances out and everything and then get it or if you feel it's best you can just hold up on the dress shopping for a little bit. But as of right now I think just so you can take your mind off the stress that chemo brings and everything go dress shopping with some of your girls and just try and rest and have a good time and just think no matter what you are going to look beautiful on your day.

Fellow cancer survivor here! I know exactly what you're talking about! I gained 80 pounds during the course of my treatment and my feet went from a 7.5/8 narrow to a 8.5/9 medium to wide. That was 19 years ago for me and it took me about a year or 2 before my body settled down but the weight didn't come completely down. I had to learn what my new "normal" was and adjust my views and expectations of my body. It's a process and not easy but you're not alone!
