Novelty performance of cpr at a wedding

Karin, on June 5, 2024 at 11:05 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 7

Hi.

I am working with a Youtube content creator with a channel with quirky action ideas similar to Mr Beast.

The latest idea on the table is to film him performing CPR at a wedding.

I am struggling to think of any reason why anyone getting married would want to have this included in their wedding.

I guess I am here just doing due diligence. Any ideas or feedback welcome ....

That’s disrespectful and there’s no reason to include it. I’m the current time/generation, people don’t care about common sense or reading the room, especially where social media is concerned. They want to be the next Kardashian wannabes, and they aim for drama and shock value for attention and everything else gets thrown out the window. Honestly, I would not feel comfortable working with a vendor who has a resume of documenting questionable behavior.

I’m confused at the concept. Like they’re doing it as a demonstration? That would be okay, but it’s baffling as to why they’d think that’s a celebratory wedding thing.

If it’s done as a performance, making guests think that someone is genuinely in need of CPR, that’s incredibly tacky and wrong on many levels. If nothing else, you’re going to prompt calls to 911 for a fake problem, which can get you in legal trouble and could hurt others who genuinely need a 911 response by tying up the lines. There’s no way this is acceptable.

Thank you. That is helpful. It would be pre-planned in a way that didn't disrupt such a sacred occaission. Some suggestions have been to do it with ER professionals passionate about promoting ER. Or to stage it as a prank. But that would only work for the right group of people and done in a way there wasn't a risk of shocking anyone. But your thoughts are helpful. I am asking here as I might talk them out of it, or suggest they ask their inner circle if they are going to do it at all.

Honestly, this sounds incredibly contrived, and there’s really no humor factor at all. I enjoy comedy (especially dark comedy and inappropriate comedy; including hidden camera prank shows), but there’s just nothing about this I could imagine anyone finding funny. There are SO many opportunities for hilarity at weddings (assuming the couple is in on the joke and on board with it); but I just can’t fathom how anybody would think CPR would be funny. It just seems awkward and completely falls flat in terms of humor.

There isn’t any reason. It’s neither the time nor the place. A wedding guest should not be treated like his a captive audience. Really inappropriate idea.

Yikes. That seems like a terribly bad idea.
