November 2020 wedding - anyone postponing yet?

Lindseyb, on April 2, 2020 at 3:42 PM Posted in Community Conversations 3 19
I feel fortunate my wedding is still a ways away and my heart breaks for those who are struggling with rearranging their events around this crisis. 🙏🏼😔
I can’t help but wonder if all of this is still going to be effecting us 8 months from now? I know likely not to this extent but will people travel again?! Attend large gatherings??? What is the CDC going to say to make us feel good about reintegrating ourselves back to normal life?! Any other brides with fall/winter weddings having these thoughts?

We’re getting married on November 14, 2020 and as much as I’d like to say it hasn’t even crossed my mind, it has! I feel awful for all of the spring/summer brides going through this and I hope it’s ok by the fall. But you never really know what things will go back to after all of this slow down. I’m also worried about the possibility of a resurge in the colder months. We have all the big stuff booked and I got my dress so I’m thankful for that. I guess we just have to stay positive and keep assessing as it goes on! I’d say we’d make a final decision based on the way things pan out by September. Best of luck to you!

We're having our stateside reception in September and our DW in October in Jamaica and are moving forward as planned until we are told it's not happening. All our vendors were chosen last year so we're just making payments on everything.

September 6th for me. A little nervous but I think we'll be okay. We decided if it's still really bad by mid-late July then we might have to push it, but for now we're moving forward. I've spoken with our vendors and they're all fine with rescheduling so long as it's not last minute, so we'll be okay even if it does get pushed.

Mine is December 6th. Im happy I booked my vendors already and already have my dress.
I’m trying not to worry and definitely won’t make the decision to postpone until October/November. My family is from France so they have already bought plane tickets, so I’m just hoping travel will be back to normal and they can come. It’s hard to stay calm and keep planning though some days

I Dont Think There Will Be Any Major Issues By Then But It Doesn't Hurt To Have A Backup Plan Just In Case Its Needed.

November 14, here! I’d be lying if I said it hasn’t crossed my mind, cause it sure has. It’s hard for me to feel excited in planning right now with the uncertainty if we will be getting married on that day, so I don’t want to make something and turns out we have to postpone. I’m trying so hard to continue planning, but it’s hard. My venue said we wouldn’t know until July/August if I have to but I’m worried ppl will not want to travel and so much more. I’m not sending out save the dates and only formal invites with online rsvp and all my out of state family already knows the day, and has our wedding block information to book rooms. I don’t even want to send out invites yet.

I am also a Nov 8th bride and getting more nervous about things even though it is 6 months out still. I pretty much have vendors hired and things planned, but not sure that we will be able to gather in large numbers even by then. An additional stress is that my photographer is actually supposed to be coming from Spain (he is a family friend we are hiring) and I don't know if that will be possible. Part of me wants to get a back up, but I am reluctant to hire someone else and put down more money especially with everything still unknown.

I am 11/14/2020 as well and just waiting. Thankful I had everything planned already but feeling like I don't really want to plan anything else just yet. I guess we are waiting till July to see how things are going. Honestly i think Plan B might be to just have small ceremony and maybe reception sometime next year but still hoping plan A works. I have a backyard if all else fails if i have to scale down to less than 10 people so be it I guess. To think a few months ago we were only worried about it raining. Seems to but life into perspective. Here is to hoping we can till hold the event! My heart breaks for those that had to cancel in the last couple months. I also almost booked for April but had to plan for November due to venue and I guess I am thankful for that and I hope it still works out since you put down money for deposits and all.

Yeah. I think we are going to give it an other month or so and then make a final decision about postponing. I am more in favor of postponing than FH, but we shall see.

I already postponed from May 2nd to November 20th of this month (really wish I pushed it to the next year). This is so stressful and not something you can plan for. I also though planning was going smoothly but then this happened. The thought of postponing twice shakes me. I really hope we can go through with this. Just know you’re not alone. We will get through this together 💕

We are planning a destination wedding in Hawaii on November 10th. I go from feeling like everything is going to be ok to panicking about back up plans. Last night I researched backyard weddings. lol I think we are all in the same boat and are gonna have to take it day by day.
