November 2020 Weddings -- How are we feeling?

Kelsey, on May 8, 2020 at 1:31 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 14

I'm trying to remain optimistic about the pandemic being at least controlled so I can have my wedding. However, all of my coworkers & family keep bringing up "the second wave." I know that weddings in itself are pretty arbitrary but I have had so many challenges I have faced just in the first couple months of this year and am really excited to marry my best friend!

How are you guys doing? Lets all use this to help each other cope Smiley heart

I’m in December!! So not too far off. I’m so sick of hearing about this 2nd wave. No one knows if it’s going to happen or be worse than the first. I just keep telling myself we have 6-7 months, half a year, there’s still so much that can change. Of course I have a back up plan but I’m staying optimistic and planning as normal😊

Novemeber 22nd bride! I am still planning as normal! I created and printed my invitations this week and am so excited! No one can predict the future and I refuse to even consider that my wedding will be canceled. No matter what my FH and I have both said we intend to get married that day no matter what.

Haha I wish I could think that positively! Stupid brain 🙃 but I’m glad you got your invitations printed! I am waiting to print them until July otherwise I know I’ll send them out the moment I get them 😅

That’s smart to remember how far away it is! Yea I am so sick of hearing about it. I understand how nuts it is — but it’s all I was hearing and seeing was “the second wave” I ended up deleting all my social media to calm my anxiety!

Yes!! My fiancé thinks I’m crazy for even second guessing things, he’s definitely keeping me sane through all of this. Totally understand the circumstances of all of this but hoping for the best for all of us 2020 brides!!

Not too good 😢 we rescheduled from April and my fiancé already told me that if there’s a second wave we’re not postponing again and we’re just going to elope. That just breaks my heart. I try to stay positive but you just never know. It’s a very stressful situation.

I’m also sick of hearing about the “second wave”. No one knows what will happen with this virus; in my opinion we’re more likely to see “second waves” as states begin to open more freely. We’re scheduled to get married on December 5 and we are staying optimistic about not having to change plans!

Oh no! That must be so hard — maybe once everhthing calms down and you did have to elope you could have a small get together so you can still have that “wedding” feeling

I feel that — it’s been so hard to not snap back with my opinion when they talk about it as if it’s the second coming or whatever.

I hope your wedding day is perfect!

I already postponed from May this year to November. The thought of postponing my wedding again is horrific. I am terrified for this second wave. I know no one can predict anything but I’m fearful if it hits that my grandparents and loved ones in remission from cancer might not come if it happens. And I wouldn’t want them to, I’d rather them be safe. I’m remaining optimistic throughout even if it doesn’t sound like it this far. I’d start to look into a plan B to help you feel better that alleviated stress for me the first go around. Ultimately no one has a crystal ball here so we need to continue on as if it will happen. Prepare for the worst, but expect the best. We will get through this together. People are so resilient and at the end of the day you’re marrying the person of your dreams, what more could we ask for? I’ll keep you and all the November brides in my thoughts and prayers.

November 21 is my wedding. I am beginning to worry. I feel like I will still be able to have the wedding, I am mostly concerned about following the social distancing and all of the other rules.
We have planned for about 200 people in a 3,500 sq ft reception venue. If we still are being required to social distance I will have to cut my reception down significantly. ☹️ We could easily social distance at the ceremony but not the reception. I am hoping by November people will be able to make the decision for themselves whether they want to attend large events. Rather than putting restrictions on them.
