November Brides - One month left!

Kate, on October 1, 2019 at 3:28 PM Posted in Planning 0 63
A few hours ago, I realized that our wedding rehearsal is in exactly one month, and that we get married a month from tomorrow! I'm having anxiety about RSVPs ("deadline" is 10/5 and we're still waiting on about 1/3 of them Smiley angry ), the wedding party being on time, and people not having fun at our wedding (idk how this is even possible - I had a good time even at the "worst" weddings I've attended!). I keep telling myself that it will ALL be fine! And no matter what, I'll be married to my best friend when the day is said and done. Smiley smile
In the past week, I've:
- Booked a limo for the wedding party
- Booked makeup (this was SO late in the game, but it ended up all working out)- Finalized the plan for wedding party gifts (a lot is on the the way!)
- Finalized our ceremony (we're having a full Catholic mass, so this took forever)- Bought another bracelet to wear with my dress
It still feels like there is so much to do -- programs, final meeting with the florist next week, setting up the day-of timeline with our photographer, scheduling a final meeting with our DJ, and our last two marriage preparation program sessions with the host couple from our parish. And a million other little details.
How are you all doing?

This is really cheesy, but as a fellow November bride, I've been counting down the days until October just so I could say "we're getting married next month!" I think it's finally starting to feel real. Is your wedding party arriving early to get ready with you or take pre-ceremony photos? If so, that should create a good enough buffer in case they do run a few minutes late. As long as you have good music and the drinks are flowing at the reception, people will have a blast!

They are! We have hair & makeup booked for all of the girls in the morning, so most of my fears are *super* irrational (and I know it). Smiley xd All of the guys are staying at the same hotel, and all they have to do is put on a tux and get to the church. We're taking some photos pre-ceremony at the church. Smiley smile We have a great DJ hired for the reception, an open bar, and a shuttle between the hotel & reception for anyone who is staying there. I'm excited!

Hard to believe I can actually say “I’m getting married next month!”
It’s totally surreal. I still have to pay off the florist and photographer. Photog will draw automatically, florist I have to call. Our cruise payment came out last month and suddenly, the wedding account doesn’t feel as flush as it did! Trying to persuade FH we need to put more in there, because I don’t think we’re quite gonna make it.
My mom is getting new teeth today-she was determined to have them in time for the wedding. Hopefully she’ll learn to wear/eat/talk with them by the wedding.
Had to sort of last minute find an officiant-my work friend from my old job who agreed to do it ages ago bailed out, by way of going radio silent. But I have one I think I like now. Just a little concerned that she hasn’t mentioned a contract yet. But her thumbtack reviews are 109% 5 stars, over 100 of them. So trying not to worry too much.

We got the travel documents for our honeymoon today, and I can't wait! Smiley smile I'm starting over on tailoring - dropped off my dress at a tailor 3 weeks ago. My mom went in today because it had been so long, and they hadn't even started anything. Apparently they tried to charge her for placing the safety pins for the bustle (lol). Fortunately, my sister got married last year, so we're going to go back to the same tailor who did her alterations. Luckily, he did great work (and quickly!). I hope that all works out. We'll all get there Smiley smile

We have all the stuff for our cruise printed too!
I lucked out with alterations-tea length dress so no hem or bustle, just taking in the bodice. $35!!
not sure it’s quite right though.

OMG, sometimes I feel like I'm the only bride who has ever freaked out about whether people will have a good time. I worry about that and how I will look. My custom dress JUST came in and I see it for the first time and meet with the seamstress tomorrow. I have been having serious dress regret since I bought it. Still need to book the limo, finalize the cake, finalize the honeymoon, get gifts for bridal party and I'm sure a whole bunch of other things! Am I the only one who just wants it all to be over with already? Lol

Get it over with already? Oh yeah! I’m so ready to be on the cruise ship the day after, relaxing in the hot tub and eating in the steakhouse!

One more month...I cannot believe it! I'm nervous about these rsvps and potential no shows. My fiance said once we started the rsvp process I turned into bridezilla lol. I just think it's rude not to have the common decency to mail back a stamped envelope or go online and RSVP!

We have a tonnnn of final meetings scheduled for this month. I start alterations next Saturday. I'm just hoping the day is great and that any mishaps don't funk up my mood. I just want to enjoy the moments and see what everything will look like after spending all this $$$ lol.

Same here!!! We’re getting married on November 2nd as well 🥰 our ceremony is starting at 3pm! What about yours?

I’m going to our nearest Sams Club tomorrow with my mom and FMIL to get all the plates, cups and aluminum pans we need for the heating trays. Saturday we’ll be going to Belk’s to get my FH’s jacket, my dad and ring beaters full outfits.

I’m still in the process of putting together my bridal bouquet (I feel like I never have enough flowers when I start doing it so that’s been really stressful)

STILL waiting on our ABC permit to come in the mail, I called them today and luckily it’s being mailed out tomorrow so we have time for that.

Meeting next week with a local store to order our alcohol since we finally know for sure we can have alcohol.

Only 2 out of 5 of my bridesmaids have their dresses and ready to be picked up on October 24th. Sooooo definitely stressed about that.

We will be meeting with our officiant and his wife for dinner sometime this week to go over the ceremony and timeline.

We ordered our tablecloths last night, and they should be here in about 2 weeks.

And we go get our marriage license this Friday. ❤️

There’s honestly so many other things we have to do, I just haven’t thought of them yet or gotten to them. So if there’s anything you think I might be missing- TELL ME 😂 Because I am freaking out 😬

So exciting 😁😁 Were not doing a seating chart! At this point since I feel like I can’t get anything done because no one is really helping me, I’m so glad I decided not to 😂

I'm so excited! I want to be married to fh so bad! Not because wedding planning sucks but because we've been long distance for 2 out of 3 yrs we've been together.

Most things are done at this point. I'm waiting on RSVPs but have a general idea of how many to expect even with those who don't RSVP. The three big things I need to do is get fh ring (after getting his size), doing the ceremony timeline, and get the marriage license (planning to do that next week).

Any suggestions on what to do with the bridal party transportation afterwards?
Were getting a limo just for the bride in the morning, however all the bridal party will be in it after the ceremony to the reception. I’m just wondering how they’ll get anywhere without a car after the reception. Should I have the groomsmen drive the cars to the reception and have the limo pick them up after they drop me off to the church?

AAaaaah!! I'm getting married next month too!! I am now just working on all the small details like favors. I am trying to find a limo to take me and the girls to the venue, I have left messages with 4 different companies and have not heard back from any. It's been a few days and now I'm getting worried, I guess if anything I will UBER it but I'd rather not. I'm ready for the day to get here, I can't take this wedding brain that I have had anymore. We still need to get our marriage license which we can't do until we get to NC the week of the wedding (we live in PA), so I am hoping that goes well. I told FH we should just bring any and all documents to be on the safe side because we won't be able to run home for anything.

November 9th! It definitely feels weird to say that I'm getting married next month! Trying to get all of the final details into place, like centerpieces and timeline. Feeling a little stressed, but I think just anxious to get some of the final strings tied up. RSVPs were due by yesterday, so I'm starting to reach out to people I haven't heard from yet. We got a good majority of our RSVPs back on time, but still had people just want to text or message me their dinner selection instead of just mailing the postage paid card.

Congrats on your dress coming in! Those are some of my biggest anxieties too....are people going to have a good time?....are we spending too much money?, etc., etc. I just keep reminding myself that its all going to work out.

Same here! I'm grouchy that we had to take up so much of the potential guest list for FH's large extended family, and a lot of them haven't even RSVP'ed Smiley atonished there will be a lot of phone calls being made next week...

Same here! I'm so sick of planning. I feel like I've turned into a really selfish person throughout wedding planning, and am so ready to be married! Can't wait to stop planning.

We were long distance from about 2 1/2 years together to our 4th dating anniversary (FH moved away to start grad school). It was so hard only seeing each other once a month, being in different time zones, and knowing he was 500 miles away most of the time. We got engaged in February 2019, just before our 5th anniversary. Glad it worked out for you too! Smiley smile
