November Brides Stay Positive

Christine, on April 26, 2020 at 9:53 PM Posted in Pennsylvania Planning 0 6
Hello all! Originally I was supposed to get married on 5.2.20 and we had to postpone to 11.20.20. I’m praying we can go through with the wedding in November. I’d love to hear from you November brides and your plans for going through with or postponing the date. Also how are you staying positive about all of this? If I have to postpone twice I’m not sure how I’ll get through it. Thanks for any advice or support you can offer. Stay healthy and stay happy!

Hi Christine, so sorry to hear that you had to postpone already!!

My original date was 11.21.2020 and we are still moving forward as if everything will be ok but we did come up with a Plan B just in case social distancing is in place still and we aren’t able to have such a large gathering.

We were expecting ~150 guests but depending on the next few months we’ll see about that.
I’m planning on sending out my save the dates once I know more (after May 8 when our stay at home order is lifted). The STDs have the link to our wedding website (Zola) on them. I put a COVID-19 update banner on the top of the webpage so anyone who visits will see any updates (postponements, cancellations). We’re also putting a slip of paper in with the STDs saying something about “everything going on.”
As for staying positive, my fiancé is really good at this, much better than me. He keeps reassuring me that we’ll have at least a small gathering of our closest friends and family and we’ll still be able to have our ceremony and we’ll keep our photographer and florals and our outfits and we’ll still look awesome and get photos at an awesome location.

I’m glad your fiancé is staying so positive, that’s great. I’m hopeful it’ll work out, there’s just so much unknown I need to remind myself to stop predicting the future as well.

I can tell you from my experience that coming up with a Plan B (in your case a Plan C) helped to ease my nerves. We decided that if we’re still in a period of social distancing then we’ll have a very intimate ceremony at a different location and most of the things would change but after walking through it all, it really didn’t seem like that bad of an alternative. It helped me stop ruminating on what might happen

I am 11/14/2020. I feel bad you had to post pone. Yeah we are waiting till July to make a decision.

I guess in my mind I am trying to sort out a plan B just in case.

not sure if I will have to cut down the guest list and how to do that politely or changing the date of party and just having small ceremony maybe in my backyard or nearby if venue allows that. not sure what to think yet, but I haven't made any changes. I am thankful I had everything mostly already planned but hard to finish the last touches just yet till I know what will happen in a couple months.
