Hello Everyone! I hope everyone is doing well. Are you guys still planning, sending invites, booking vendors and dress shopping?

I am really not sure on what to do with this uncertain times. I am afraid to book more vendors and i honestly have no motivation to plan anymore. I have thought about changing my date until 2021. How are you ladies doing through this process? And how are you handing this situation?
Thank you ladies!

Personally Nov 14,2020 wedding. I am carrying along as planned. For the vendors I still have to book I'm just having the potential postponement discussion to know that they will work with me or refund if the date is postponed. I am also having to everything online and over the phone as I am self quarantining due to my exposure risk. I work healthcare and don't believe in the work completely halting this far out. Now I do understand the stress and uncertainly that everyone is presently facing. We are discussing alternative dates - if we have to - like a "soft date hold for 2021." We plan to make a true decision mid summer - June/July.

This is totally a personal decision! You have to do what is best for you and your stress level.

    Congratulations though!!!

Our date is in October and everything has been booked and planned since January (and STD’s were mailed in Jan too). So thankful we don’t have any planning to do during these crazy times.

For now we’re just rolling day-to-day. Not feeling worried because it’s out of our control. So my fiancé and I will see how things look in early August and decide if we have to go with one of our alternate plans. Either way, we still plan to get married on our wedding date (even if it’s just the 2 of us) and celebrate with our guests at a later time.

We had to postpone our March 29 wedding to November 1 of this year. All of our vendors except for our florist are all mom and pop/small businesses so they are prepared should we have to postpone again.

We’re getting married on November 14, 2020. All of our vendors are booked and I did buy my dress. We decided not to send save the dates just in case things change because we really don’t know what it will be like. We had to postpone cake tasting and most likely our menu tasting. It’s really hard to decide what to do. I am also planning on contacting our venue to see when we should seriously start discussing postponement. We’ll make our final decision by July, this way I know if i should order invitations or not. Best of luck!

Mine is in December - so far I’m still planning but not too much, taking it slow.
We are having somewhat a DW - it’s where we live but everyone lives in other states or other countries so we already sent Save the dates before this all happened.
The only event I’m somewhat worried about currently is our food tasting as that’s supposed to happy in July. I went planning crazy though before it all happened so I already have all my vendors booked except for our guest transportation from hotel to venue. I also already have my dress which I’m so happy about. I’m basically just currently shopping for decor stuff and finishing my bridal look

Yo! Date Twin! Smiley smile You are doing the exact same steps as us. I did book my core vendors and made sure there was no rebooking fees if COVID is still an issue but I have to wait til June/July to see what the next steps are...heres to hoping!

This is super scary and I can not wait for all of this to be over. I also work in the healthcare industry and this couple of weeks have definitely being difficult. I just want time to hurry up 😞 I will contact the vendors I have and see what the plan might be? I just pray that we can continue with the wedding.

I am soooo behind 😞 I don’t even have my wedding dress 😥 I only got to go wedding shopping once and none of the dresses were what I would love to wear the day I’d my wedding. I might try the virtual wedding dress shopping?

Did you have to pay your florist?

I plan on booking them last because of a lot of comment I’ve seen about florist being unable to reschedule and loosing down payments.
How did you have the conversations with your vendors ? I am not sure if to start asking questions of to wait u til June/July?

I was getting ready to send my invitations to print. But I decided to cancel my order and plan on just doing online invitations just if things have to be moved around.

What did they say about postponing at this time? Would they charge you any fees?

You are so ahead of the game! Congratulations ❤️ I need to get my act together but with all of this going on I am honestly not sure on what to do. I don’t have my cater/DJ/Dress 😟 I was just beginning to get things done in March and all of this took a turn for the worse.

It’s just so difficult to plan 😥 I am just glad I have my video/photo booked because I am pretty sure people will start to move their date towards the end of the year.

DJ you can definitely schedule online! I haven’t met my DJ but spoke with him on the phone and then booked him.
The caterer you can still reach out to a few and get some menus, if you haven’t already. But that one since you need to taste the food but need to be done in person.
For the dress, while not ideal if you want the experience of going with friends at a salon, I have heard that some salons are offering at try at home program. So you can try 3 dresses or so at home and then send them back. I haven’t heard of anyone that has tried doing that yet and I’m not sure if a salon near you has that option available but you could email/call them and ask!

Yeah, I understand because all brides have different desires. Our desire to get married is more important than the wedding hoopla. Plus FH and I have sparks regardless of the day or situation 😉. For us, a legal union in regular clothing at the county office wouldn’t take anything away from walking down the aisle in my dress a few months later and celebrating with fam/friends present. Two different environments and situations. So each one is just as special.
