November Wedding?? Georgia

Bailey, on June 1, 2012 at 11:02 AM Posted in Planning 0 9

Hello all!! I am trying to plan my wedding for this fall and it is so hard to find a venue!!! I found one that I LOVE (outdoor ceremony, semi outdoor/barn reception) but it is only open November 17. Now, in Georgia, that's not too bad...but how do y'all feel about it? Should I try for somewhere else? Risk it?

Also, do you think, since that is the weekend before Thanksgiving, that many guests will be in town? You guys are such great help. Thanks in advance!

I lived in North Georgia for 8 years. So gorgeous. But mid-November can be iffy. Usually, after October is over, the weather is cold and the leaves start to disappear. So close to a holiday weekend can also be a problem. Check with your guests on that though. I suppose it also makes a difference where exactly in Georgia you are talking about. The north and southern part of the state are so different from each other. Hope I helped. Good luck!

What area are you looking at? Budget? Guests? Vendors?

I'm getting married at the Roswell River Landing... holds up to 200... has an outdoor area with a deck right over the Chattahoochee River. It's also pretty cheap! (To us, anyhow).... $500 deposit, $900 rental fee.... you get the deposit back so long as there are no damages. They only provide the space, tables, and chairs... everything else is up to you! Smiley smile

Hey wedding date sister!! It's so hard to find November brides not to mention a bride getting married on the 10th. I am is Kennesaw, GA and we are getting married at Cedar Plantation in Acworth. They are AWESOME!!! They have great prices and are all inclusive but you can use out side vendors is you choose. Did you just get engaged? What are your colors? Theme?

Have you checked out helen area? There are so many great wedding and breakfast places up in that area of the blue ridge. Im sure you will find the perfect place. If you are wanting to take advantage of the fall leaves I'd suggest october though or very early november.

We did a beautiful wedding Nov. 5th last year in Marietta Square. The weather was crisp and cool. The couple had their wedding reception at the Brickyard so the guests walked there literally since it was a block away. Here's a sample from their wedding.

    Congratulations to all the brides!

The 17th is my date too! We're getting married in Macon and the weather last year wasn't too bad, but we are getting married inside at the Macon Marriott

Hi Bailey!! I'm planning a wedding this November (2021) and I'm wondering how things worked out the year you got married? I, too, am worried about weather and chilly temps as we want to have the ceremony outside. I bought a dress that's better suited for July, but I really love it so I'm hoping for an above-average temperature day! But I have a shawl to wrap around me as well!!
