November wedding outside in Milwaukee, WI

Melissa, on June 21, 2013 at 9:42 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

Hello all, I am getting married this November 16th 2013. Reception at south shore park pavilion. But having trouble finding a place to hold ceremony! We do not belong to a Church so being deny everyone we inquire on. We thought about outside as it would be quick ceremony. Thoughts or suggestions be great!

Really? that's weird. Why can't you have the reception and the ceremony at the same place and just hire an officiant, unless you have your heart set on getting married in a church

Too cold for my taste, but I really hate the cold weather. November is such a rainy month too. I think it's a big gamble.

I'm a November bride, but I got a venue because I didn't want to deal with the weather. We are having the ceremony and reception at the same venue. Maybe u should try to find something like that.

Where do you live? It's easy for us since we live in Florida. Are there any estates nearby? Golf Courses?

Well we could have it at the same place but everyone would be seated already at the tables... Not sure if I want that. I'm not set on church or getting married in one I should say just thought it would been easier.

Hello date twin! I'm in Texas so I'm no help, though I was in WI last winter and experienced the cold for the first time in my life. Good luck!

With WI weather in Nov, I'd advise against being outside, especially if it decides to be a snowy season. I'd check out hotels and halls.

In Milwaukee all I can think of for November is WIND. Cold wind. So even if you get setting covered it could be awful with the wind coming off the lake. Also, depending on your timing it could be dark as it gets dark early in November

November in Wisconsin sounds cold. Not sure of your budget, but I found these on theknot.com:

I nearly froze on the 4th of July in Wisconsin several years ago.

I've officiated weddings where the guests were already seated at their tables -- not a problem at all. Those who would have their backs to you just need to turn their chairs around. If you can't have a center aisle through the tables & chairs, you can enter across the front.

    What about a chapel?

What about the chapel at The Loft and Chapel if you're still looking? Otherwise, the South Shore Pavilion has that great space in front of the kitchen. Why not do the ceremony there?
