November wedding

Joelle, on May 4, 2020 at 8:23 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 10
Hey everyone,

My wedding is supposed to be nov 6. I know that’s 6 months away and I have a decent amount of time to worry, but what does everyone plan on doing who’s supposed to have a wedding in November or around that time? Our problem is we’re supposed to have about 150 people and a lot will be flying in from over seas, so we are concerned as to whether a lot of guests will be able to Make it or not. Also, a lot of news sources are saying there’s a good chance there will be another big surge of covid cases come fall and winter, so I don’t know if I should reschedule now or wait a little longer 😭 any suggestions, advice, or letting me know what you’re all planing on doing if you’re in the same boat as I am will help!

I’m feeling the same way! My wedding is in October and I keep going back and forth between minor panic and trying to take it easy because that’s a pretty long period of time from now

Mine is Dec 6, my entire side of the family (except for parents and sister) are overseas. I want to wait longer, I'm hoping by the end of the summer there will be fewer restrictions on international travel but who knows.

I can't bring myself to postpone just yet when I still have 7 months to go, but it is very scary and nerve-racking

We’re scheduled for November in a destination almost everyone will travel to. We already have non refundable deposits down for the venue and catering, so we aren’t cancelling with them yet but assuming we will be. We will plan a gathering for 10 or so people and courthouse wedding for the same date or earlier. I don’t see any way a 30+ person gathering is happening this year.

Oh no Smiley sad do you plan on still having your destination wedding, or a larger wedding/celebration in the future if you have to reschedule? After your possible courthouse wedding? I’m contemplating just getting legally married on our date if we can’t have the wedding and then I’ll just move it to the following year prob if my venue has availability

Exactly how I feel. All of my fiancé’s family members except his mom are in Europe and Israel and my biggest concern is any possible travel bans. Being 6 months away, I too can’t bring myself to postpone/cancel yet.

We’re thinking about moving the courthouse date up to the summer so we could tentatively keep our date, but have a smaller celebration where we are from. I wasn’t planning a traditional, big wedding so I don’t mind if the bigger celebration doesn’t happen. We’ll use the saved money on travel/a longer honeymoon.

Ours Is In October And We Don't Plan On Canceling Or Rescheduling. We only Have 60 Guests Though And None Coming From Overseas. I Think You Should Continue Planning As Normal And Expect That Some Guests Won't Be Comfortable Enough To Fly At That Time, But Don't Let That Keep You From Getting Married on Your Big Day Smiley smile

We are in October and the exact same situation. We came up with plan b and have a 90 hold with our vendors on a new date in April. This way we don’t have to worry if it gets postponed there is already a plan in place. In 90 days we will either send out invites or send out postponments and email the vendors to change the date officially. It’s too soon to reschedule but not too soon to start creating your plan b that way you don’t have to worry! It helped me a ton. Good luck!

Ours is in Hawaii on November 10. I'm worried about our guests and feel a lot of guilt about possibly having to postpone when people have already invested in travel such as plane tickets and lodging. My FH keeps me grounded with his optimism. Here's hoping it works out for all of us.
