Savvy September 2019

Now that it is over!

Hello All,

I am a married woman now! Seems so surreal to be Mrs. Gonzalez! Any how, I just wanted to jot down our budget. We went $1,605 over the original budget so it's not too bad. For anyone getting married soon or later I just want to say... IT WILL NOT BE PERFECT. There will be small things that happen... 2 major things that happened at reception- My sister got carried out because she was so drunk! (I know embarrassing) and towards the end two of my cousins got into a huge argument. I say huge because other people started getting into it. I had ignored everything else, but when people started arguing I couldn't hold back the tears. If I could take anything back it would be NOT TO HAVE ANY HARD LIQUOR! We should have just had beer and maybe one specialized cocktail. Of course, we went all out and had shots. Or if you are going to do liquor please make sure adults know how to be adults. Other than this my wedding was perfect and I didn't pay attention to the minor things. My little family was all that mattered.

Venue- $6,150

Included: Food, DJ, Venue, Tables, Chairs, Plates, Napkins, Forks, Desert, Sweet/Unsweet tea

Alcohol- $540 Mixers- $145

Centerpieces- $600

HMUA- $480

Dress- $1500 (my dad paid for this)

Church- $250

Tuxedo/Attire for our little family- $380

Rehearsal Dinner- $180 (made tacos, rice, and beans at home)

Gifts for bridal party- $300

Photographer- $2,000 (biggest regret not finding a more affordable photographer)

Bridal Cake/Grooms Cake- $580

Total: $11,605

I'm so sorry you had trouble with family at your wedding! We refuse to have hard liquor because we know there are a few family members that would go overboard (even on a Sunday evening!). I also have a 10k budget and I'm hoping we can bring it in just under that, but hey things come up!

I'm glad you didn't let the little things get you down and still felt your wedding was perfect, congratulations!!
